Pierre Garcon’s Updated Fantasy Outlook After Week 12

Sometimes, value can be found in making the most out of unfavorable circumstances. That was the case with Pierre Garcon of the Washington Redskins, who turned a bad situation into an encouraging result during Week 12 of the 2013 NFL regular season.

After his Monday Night Football performance against the San Francisco 49ers, Garcon has proven that he should remain in point-per-reception fantasy lineups throughout the remainder of the year.

Robert Griffin III was 17-of-27 for 127 yards, no touchdowns and one interception during a 27-6 loss to the 49ers. Despite his limited success, Garcon managed to post eight receptions for 48 yards, which equates to a 12-point outing in point-per-reception leagues.

Garcon has now set a career-best mark in receptions in a season:

Even if he didn’t provide much value in standard leagues, the fact that he caught eight passes on one of RG3’s worst nights is encouraging enough to move forward with him in your lineup.

Should Pierre Garcon be named to the Pro Bowl?

Should Pierre Garcon be named to the Pro Bowl?

  • Yes. Garcon’s numbers speak for themselves.

  • No. He’s playing well, but not that well.

Garcon is now at 75 receptions for 939 yards and three touchdowns through 11 games. He’s been a menace as a possession receiver and a deep-ball threat, and this performance was further evidence of his versatility.

The best move that you can make is to keep him in your lineup throughout the duration of the year.

Garcon has at least five receptions in every single game that he’s played this year. That level of consistency isn’t easy to find, and it’s not something that has been expected of the former Indianapolis Colts star.

At 27, it appears as if the former Mount Union star is finally coming into his own and overcoming past inconsistencies. That’s what makes him one of the true gems in point-per-reception formats.

Capitalize on it.
