Exactly right with missing Goedert I kept saying on live streams it’s rediculous how many casual fans there are I’ve never played football at any level but I know enough that you can’t judge a QB by missing a guy so wide open because there’s so many reasons there’s the alert like Nick Mentioned perfectly they told Jalen to look for Goedert then the coverage looked like it wasn’t good and they ended up getting a busted coverage most QB’s will miss those!
I said in live streams that unless it’s a great easy pass concept vs an easy defensive coverage or look or your looking at your go to guys and staring them down a bit your gonna miss guys because there’s where you are on the field and the goal line is tight then you might get a specific coverage and want to go off of your reads quicker especially if you thinking their bringing pressure sometimes it’s a blessing and a curse going through your reads and regression and going through them too quick because for me sometimes playing Madden I always say I take educated guesses pre snap and then post snap I’m reading techniques so if I have routes that have outbreak in routes I’m reading techniques so I’m reading leverages of those defenders but pre-snap I want to get a good tell what the person I was in so I know what my matchups are who’s on my tight end who’s on my slot by receiver who’s on my best wide receiver who’s on my second best wide receiver who’s on my running backs obviously you’re probably going to be facing more base defenses there in that situation because it is in the goal line and defenses have to prepare for the run or pass and you can’t just simply put nickel or dime defenses in that situation but yeah pre-snap I’m trying to get an educated guess I’m trying to make sure what the personnel is in to know which defenders are on the field and my matchups and then it’s doing the blocking adjustments ID in the mic doubling whoever you got a double and then post that read those leverages and techniques from the defenders!
Because even if you’re wrong with your educated guess on what the possible coverage could be you do your blocking adjustments and you have everything blocked up it allows you to go through your reads spend more time on your reads and because you do try to get a good idea of what the personality is you know who you can take advantage of from the defense whether it’s man or zone because of the past concert you can manipulate certain players in zone and take advantage of matchups in man and after the snap you’re reading techniques what are they playing inside are they playing outside are they playing backed off or they chasing if they’re chasing there in man if they’re not there in his zone. Are they playing a combo coverage? Are they playing more coverage with extra linemen out then another thing is reading the personnel would also tell you if they’re most likely to run an exotic Blitz or disguise their coverage! How’s the back of the end zone? Like is it Middle Field open is the middle of field closed can you slip in certain underneath routes for yards after the catch for a TD? Is it a situation like a 3rd down where you could slip in one of those underneath passes or run to go for it on 4th down? There’s a lot of stuff that happens in that situation or on any play!
