They are not winning (getting deep into the playoffs) and it is still an expansion franchise. It is not the greatest destination and it sends a bad message to the rest of the players or potential players.

clowney was nearly a bust, the first 3 years of his contract he barely played. he was only allowed to do that because he was on the texans. it’s obvious that without a GM they were not going to be able to make out his contract. he technically only earned half his first contract and the NFL are the ones who decide the tag designation not sure he texans. the texans don’t just play him as a DE. he does play a LB just as much if not more.

Can we just call the current rookie pay system, “The Bradford effect.”

King J-dub Reply

Cut rookie contracts to 3 years max.

I get why the Texans are sceptical, buy I don’t understand why they cleared cap this past offseason and not signed anybody? They should have just payed him

It’s pretty simple, Obrien doesn’t want him on the team. Its not about the money Obrien is a petty control freak who coaches in the weakest division in the NFL. Why don’t you media types have the glands to call him out?

Love clowney but we don’t know how much he is demanding. I wouldn’t pay him more than JJ Watt are B Hopkins. Want be a good look for the franchise.

“The long term contract that he earned”…..Dafuq?, this guy needs to relax. Clowney is overrated & is a ghost when most needed (if not injured ). Trade him!. Texans fan here.
