I’ve heard multiple interviews recently given by Derwin James. He sounds so excited & optimistic! He is going to blow the league open as Staley’s premier “chess piece” in this new, modernized, redefined defense the Chargers will play. I mean Brandon Staley has been consistent that everyone in the defensive backfield are defensive backs… safeties are defensive backs, not safeties. I guess we’ll understand that redefined role at some point during the season.
I’m with you but Derwin needs to play at an all pro level for 12 games before I say he’s back. Fingers crossed.

I really really hope he can stay healthy, entering his final contract year, it be hard to extend if he were to get injured three years in a row, potential is great, but the best ability is availability

I think everyone forgets that tranquil is coming back, our defense in the middle is getting a lot better , unfortunately losing perryman, but he is so injury prone, hell of a player but injury circus….
I think we shouldn’t put so much on Derwin or Bosa we need to preserve them.
