Barmelo Xanthony Teams won’t stop trying but with only one team getting home field it will always be a two horse race instead of a 2 chasing 1 to get the overall 1 and 3 chasing 2 to get a bye it makes a difference
Maybe they should try being #1 instead. They’ll still have to play the 7 seed anyway, so if they’re good enough to deserve a bye, they’re definitely good enough to beat a 7 seed without a sweat (unless the records in the conference were inflated like the NFC’s were this past season).

@stevenp25100 The season has been 16 games since 1978. The reason they went up from 12 and 14 games from 1947 to 1977 was because of expansion and popularity. I argue the league has already become watered down due to expansion and has reached it’s peak. The owners are simply trying to milk every penny from the fans that they can. Selfish greedy owners are breeding selfish greedy players. Since they started the PI rules and QB protection rules 10 years ago the records have been falling to statistical anomalies anyway! They are trashing a sport I used to love. Good riddance.

17 games is a goofy number that makes for uneven home/away scheduling. It would’ve been better to just go to 18 games while knocking the preseason down to 2.
