@Steven Balcaitis but you say burrows better stats are because he has better team…. Doesn’t matter who’s catching the ball if you don’t have time to find them. This bengals o line is just as bad as those, but yet he has done more. A FOURTEEN, yes FOURTEEN percent pass block win rate in the super bowl and still almost pulled it off. But ya, definitely nothing he did.

@matt n yeah, the defense almost pulled it off. Burrow had his shot and just didn’t come through.

@Steven Balcaitis burrow got the bengals to the super bowl with HORRIBLE offensive line play. If that isn’t finding a way, what is?! His line played the worst, by far, of any team in the playoffs in the last decade plus. And he still lead them to three wins, and almost the title. I’m done arguing with your ignorance. It’s obvious you have something against him. I’m not even a bengals fan, but see the great things this second year qb has done.

Great post, Caroline. Tee Higgins will likely be the SBMVP if the Rams use Jalen Ramsey and a Safety to double Jamar Chase. If the Bengals win, it will because they played better as a team than the Rams… and that’s a pretty “IF.”

@Caroline Manley We had other Pro franchises that kept Motown alive: The Pistons won 3 chips and the Red Wings won 3 (since 1957’s Bobby Layne lead the Detroit Lions to a Championship. Even the Detroit Tigers won 2 World Series (1968/1984) since the 1957 Lions.

The Titans didn’t make it but I’m still actually looking forward to this Super Bowl still. Joe has all the luck in the world right now and the eye of the tiger, whatever that is… and Stafford made sure we don’t have to endure another Brady Super Bowl win soooo… It’ll be good whatever happens.

I know part of me wants the bengals to win only because the YouTuber “Ishowspeed” and part of me want the rams to win just because.

@Aaron Michael If the Buc’s Offensive Line was healthy… we’d be seeing Brady… beat Burrow… remember this fact. The Chiefs still need to learn to stop providing motivation to their opponents. Those “Table Dance” touchdown celebrations are what the Chiefs need to stop doing after scoring. This goes back to the Pat’s beating them in 2018 on their own field.

@Aethlred Agreed on the o-line. Joe is big and strong enough to run the ball for now, but only after he quickly checks two options to throw. When he made a decision to bolt out of the pocket and run after checking the first 2 options, that approach seemed to serve him and the team well. The times he stood in and checked options 3 and 4, it seemed he got sacked.

Even Brady tends to check down his options quickly and threw the ball relatively quick – rarely standing in the pocket for a long time. Unlike Joe, Brady wasn’t strong enough or quick enough to use the run as a viable option on a continuous basis. He did have some key runs that were huge plays resulting in good things happening, but they were extremely rare.

All up, I think Joe checking down quickly and getting out of the pocket throwing on the run while moving vertically or North to South will create openings to throw to because underneath defenders in zone coverage will start to come forward to stop Joe from gaining significant yards on a run.

He needs to use the hook slide as often as possible and only go headfirst when the game is literally on the line.

It’s a new era in the NFL to have QB’s that are big, strong, and fast – like a 2nd or 3rd sting tailback but with the ability to make world class throws. Sorry for the long comment, but I played some small time college ball (D2) and played in a tournament circuit of x-pros and x-college players (8 man flag football) for a decade. I love the game.✌️

@AP I don’t know AP, I didn’t watch the Super Bowl. You must think I watched it because I commented on how confident the Bengals conducted themselves in this video. And the fact you assumed there would be a direct correlation between the two likely means you’re a kid – and I have to remember that kids are naive. The chiefs absolutely got demoralized after the end of the 1st half. I think that’s one of the chiefs biggest issues. They have all the talent in the world but they don’t really have that voice to bring everyone back together when they’re down and the mental game is just as important as physical talent. Whereas the Bengals have Burrow and most of their players have suffered through horrid seasons so they know how to get back into a game when they are down.

This is exactly why players want to go to Cincinnati… to be around Burrow… who hasn’t lost a big game in College/NFL. Imagine if the Bengals had an Offensive Line that was better. He’s running for his life and despite being down 21 points on the road in the AFC Championship… the Chief player made this remark: “He’s not even making his reads… he’s just looking for space to run into.” This remark was made before Burrow said, “We’re going for 2.” Higgins (#85, who played for Clemson/Trevor Lawrence in the NCAA Championship Game against Burrow and LSU) is going to become the Super Bowl MVP. They will clamp/double down on Jamar Chase (#1) and this is the only other player with the kind of speed/talent to beat the Rams’ Defensive Backs, like Jalen Ramsey (who will be all over Jamar Chase).

I see his arrogance didn’t help win the game.
