As if the Baltimore Ravens didn’t have enough problems in their receiving corps this season, Marlon Brown will be inactive on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Brown is currently third on the team in receiving yards (150), targets (23) and catches (14). While he hasn’t had a big impact through the air this season, his loss will leave the Ravens one player short for Joe Flacco to throw to.
That could benefit fellow receiver, Torrey Smith, who will be leaned on by Flacco in order to create some semblance of a passing attack. Running back Ray Rice will also be an option to throw the ball to now that Baltimore’s resources are limited.
Should that not work out to plan, the Ravens will be forced to run the ball and that could lead to extra carries for Rice, thus giving him yet another avenue to have a big day.
