Nathaniel Hackett determined to clean up operations after Broncos’ Week 2 win over Houston – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Scott C

I know things will get cleaned up eventually, Broncos country will go crazy if it doesn’t. That being said it’s a marathon, not a race. LET’S RIDE!

    Any Thing

    🤣

    Budlife

A marathon is a race. You mean, “it’s a marathon not a sprint”

    David Younkin

    They are already going crazy

J CALLI

Man you can see it all in his face. Almost makes me feel bad

    TwentyOneTwelve

He got chewed out and he see’s the bad publicity…. not smiling and being all happy is a sign of that.

    J CALLI

@TwentyOneTwelve man if only that is what my comment meant 😂

Deonte Lopez

Appreciate coach acknowledging that he needs to get better. Steps in the right direction, I believe he’ll clean it up.

    TheEnigmaticOpaque

@Stevie Sevieria, after two weeks? Why? You do see how complex and awesome his offensive scheme is, right? The only thing that was lacking was the execution of the offense. Other than clock management, which can and will get better, this kind of coach is what we needed. I’ll be back after next week to check in on you and make sure you’re not going to cry.

    Stevie Sevieria

@TheEnigmaticOpaque so many have said “they will be back next week”. I’ve never yet seen anyone show. SFO 27, DEN 17. What’s your prediction?

    Any Thing

    🤣😂😅

    TheEnigmaticOpaque

@Stevie Sevieria, Denver by a touchdown. We’ll see. Russ knows the 49ers defense pretty well and Jimmy Garoppolo is a decent quarterback, but the Broncos defense is miles ahead of Seattle’s. He has no chance.

    Stevie Sevieria

@TheEnigmaticOpaque ok, you have Broncos by 7, I have Niners by 10. Only thing to do now is wait for Sunday night!

LegendaryLikeSPHINX

Less penalties, less dropped passes and better coaching and were good 👍

    john basedow

russ is cooked. have fun losing 10 games

    alonso96ification

Yes and the game overall was an improvement from last week. Growing pains were inevitable. Let’s ride!

    Christian Camacho

    Wow😂

    LegendaryLikeSPHINX

@john basedow it’s looking that way 😂 but gotta stay positive

    LegendaryLikeSPHINX

    @alonso96ification broncos country 🐴 let’s ride x3

TwentyOneTwelve

He doesn’t seem so happy. We have to remember that he’s a young, new and inexperienced coach that needs some time. He has to remember that this teams fans and possibly it’s new owners need him to show that he’s big enough to handle his position and do so ASAP.

FrogsterTi

I like this press conference a lot from Hackett. He didn’t give excuses like last week. Let’s just move forward and hope he can learn and call the game/play calling better.

    Name

He gave excuses last week? I didn’t see any

    Bronson Miller

@Name he kept trying to justify his decision to not let russ get more yards and make the field goal manageable for McMoney

    Christian Camacho

You like his press conference? Because he’s a HC of Broncos good speaking very poor on the field

    FrogsterTi

@Christian Camacho I like it because he didn’t backtrack his mess. First step to fixing things is to admit to it.

    Name

@Bronson Miller he explained **why** he made that decision after he explained that he shouldn’t have done it and that he will do better and figure it out eventually.

Annette Nelson

Very subdued for a first time coach who just won his first game. I really believe Coach Hackett will grow into a great coach. Just a bit of a learning curve.

    Stevie Sevieria

Just missed it by that much

    robert savage

not a chance, he is in way over his head!

    Jacques Onu

Should’ve lost the game and by a TON. As a Texans fan, very fortunate win against a developmental team right now.

G R

if only there were a few games before the season starts to work on that communication with starters

C Thomas

Coach broncos country is loving having you as our coach. We believe in you.

    Stevie Sevieria

There’s an awful lot of “we” in your sentence that wants him fired.

    Digit

@Stevie Sevieria yea after 2 fucking weeks, it’s so stupid. No one is patient now a days

    Stevie Sevieria

@Digit some people are more observant than others. As the dummies come around you’ll hear more calls for his being fired, until eventually they can him. People calling for it now just see the writing on the wall better.

    C Thomas

@Digit he’s a troll, looking for direct attention. Doubt he even would know the RB we had before Jevonte.

    Jacques Onu

Most fans understand that the broncos are a “right now” team. There’s no “I hope you get it eventually” when you trade what has been traded to win now. It’s fair to evaluate and criticize the product that has been created thus far. I would just say to make the criticism constructive. In my opinion, the guy is a talented coordinator right now that has the potential to become a good head coach. I don’t believe that’s who the broncos need as of right now.

W P

I respect Hackett’s willingness to subject himself to the daily grilling by the media. Hopefully it will get easier as things get worked out.

    brandon

He doesn’t have a choice of speaking to the media it’s in his job description

Dustin Snider

this guy will be a broncos legend mark my words. he’s got the goods. I think once he settles his nerves hell be killing it!

    Eric Salazar

    Agree completely

    Any Thing

    😂

SAVE FERRIS

I’m just glad he’s taking accountability, that’s the first step towards getting better

SLG

I’m glad he admitted he needs to makes decisions faster and relay it to the QB. Russell didn’t forget how to play football. We know that. We don’t know how Hackett will be as a head coach

Jim Toft

“Doing what’s right for him” (Russ) is letting him and the offense line up asap so that Russ can assess the D and audible if need be, or check a side, etc. Doing what’s right when we are inside the 5 is running it 4 times in a row and keeping it simple, or q playaction boot. Doing what’s right is putting your best players in a position to dominate and succeed…. it doesn’t have to be trickery on 3rd and short, especially when your backs haven’t been stopped. Just line up and play smash mouth and playaction off of that. Stop over thinking it and outsmarting yourself and your own team. Lastly, when we are always snapping it with 1 or 0 on the clock, the defense gets a good jump on the snap. I knew this would happen with an “all-rookie” staff full of college (etc) buddies. Where is the accountability within the staff itself? Whose stepping up to say good idead/bad idea?

reynarain

I predicted this season the Broncos would challenge the Chiefs for the AFC west but after the first two games its obvious there is a gap on the level of coaching.

Yosh Yodriguez

Sucks the injuries this team having this early hope it doesn’t continue throughout the season

coronazac

The mistakes that are happening on the field with the squad are due to the fact NO STARTERS played in the preseason I understand trying to keep everyone healthy but those guys need those reps to get the rust off… they better be ready Sunday night or SF will run them over

Dh3

I really like this coach, I think it will pay to be patient and get behind him. He acknowledges mistakes, takes accountability, and that makes improving possible. Fangio should take notes.

    Jacques Onu

You all need a “right now” guy. Sure, there’s potential, but Russ and this team’s window will not remain open forever.

    Dh3

@Jacques Onu in today’s NFL young coaches don’t get long to figure it out anyway he’s going to have to turn into a “right now” guy by next year for sure

Micah 321

As much sh*t I’ve been giving Nathan. I pull back and see that this is not just a rookie HC, almost every coach on staff is brand new at their position and before this time in their lives they were pretty much all in a position lower with less/different responsibilities than they have now.

So with considering all of the above, it’s incredibly difficult to imagine and expect everybody to be firing on all cylinders from day 1 and showcase and exercise a brand new system efficiently in live action.

I give credit to Nathaniel for not making any excuses and instead show humility and not “fingerpoint at everyone but himself” to explain why things aren’t working properly.

Regardless of whether he fixes the issues or not, it’s nice to see a HC without ego. I wish you the best of luck, Nathaniel, GO BRONCOS!

It's Me Avery

Its so painful to see this happening after this hype 😢 idk why but I have a gut feeling that we will turn it around. Let’s hope we start riding guys, it’s been too long
