What Mustipher seems to lack is raw ATHLETICISM. His metrics with respect to SPEED and AGILITY support this observation. They’re DREADFUL! The tape shows over and over that Mustipher simply whiffs on blocks or gets into positions of such IMBALANCE that it takes very little (for a NFL player) to easily push him out of the way. Effectively, Mustipher’s lack of speed causes him panic in response to a defender’s move AND his poor agility pretty much guarantees he won’t be in a powerful position to counter.

Say what you want about Mustipher but he has no doubt improved recently.

You don’t have to be the fastest , biggest or strongest although it helps .

Nobody likes to play for a team that has been a losing team for a long long time! Eventually losing more games than winning messes with a great players mind and athletes like Sanborn will want to be traded to a winning team!
Sanborn is an undrafted rookie. He has ZERO leverage.

How can Mustipher sit up there and talk about watching the tape, but never improve his play? Same old mistakes. He can’t anchor down against anyone In PassPro.
I know he wants to get out in front of some of these blocks, but at least once a game he looks like he’s going downfield running routes and never touches anyone.
And he outed his father-in-law with Sunday Ticket.
As I’m writing this he just preached about getting better and repeating the same mistakes. It’s like the fat girl who stands in front of the mirror in spandex and a belly shirt thinking she looks good.
We have the answer in Deiter Eiselen. Why is he not out there? I don’t care what happens in practice. He’s shown up as the highest rated OL in every game he’s appeared in. He had his way with Aaron Donald, but we’re forced to watch Sam get beat against anyone and everyone every single week? PFF doesn’t even have a clue about what they’re watching. They’ll give Sam a good grade on a play where he chips on a double team where Tevin already has control of the block, Sam releases and whiffs on a LB who makes the tackle.
I don’t call him Sammy the Bull. I call him Sammy the Matador for the way he lets the DL go right past him.
Get Deiter in there. It doesn’t get any worse than Sam. We know what we have in Sam. Deiter can’t be put on the practice squad anymore. Sam clearly isn’t the future so give Deiter his chance. At least at G. Do we have to watch Schofield anymore to know he won’t use fundamentals?
