Idk how much longer I can defend Mariota, I always fought for him because his a great guy and very talented. He has been far better then Vince young, Jake locker, and Zach mettenberger. I would probably even say better then the seasoned vet era…Collins, Hasselbach, Fitz…. But I just went to my first game live at Nissan and idk if I can do it anymore. 14 games left Marcus and right now it’s 50/50. It might be time to start imagining Tua, even if we have to trade up for him. Hopefully the narrative of Polynesian for Polynesian might soften the blow for all of us who don’t like seeing the good guy lose.

VY IS ONLY 1 PLAYOFF WIN LESS THAN MM.

He’s the best we’ve had since we were the oilers. By the numbers that’s just true.

Well said Scott, i feel ya brother

    RotaryPerfection Reply

@Martial Apologist The stat numbers mean nothing if they don’t translate to WINS. VY destroys MM in that category and thats the category we should be most worried about. Philip Rivers has amazing stats every year but he cant win playoff games. To hell with that!

Master Jedi55 Reply

I have been a Mariota appologist ever since he was drafted, but I’m starting to really think the NFL is too big for him. I hope I’m wrong, but the evidence is really piling up.

    Master Jedi55 Reply

@Mc Ren I’ve always wished he’d be a little more aggressive vocally, both with the team and media. It wouldn’t hurt for him to be more fiery and outwardly competitive.

Been saying it all along. after that season he had last year I was done with him

    Vicki Smith Reply

Dee09 Motivation you don’t know what you’re talking about. Just because he doesn’t act like Winston, doesn’t mean he’s not talking to the players. Are you in the huddle, are you in the locker room? NO so stfu. You’ve obviously never heard him miked up, I have. He says bad words & yells at people.

We have so many illogical fans. We were going to win the SuperBowl last week but now we should fire everyone and start over 😂😂

I completely agree with you. People are just thinking that we’ve reverted to another bad year because we lost to the Colts… AGAIN

Boi we were never going to win a super bowl! Do you see who are QB is SMH

    cody humble Reply

For me, the biggest factor with this loss is that we’ve been fed this ‘good to great’ narrative all year, and a great team wouldn’t have lost to the colts – ESPECIALLY not like that. Since 2018 we’ve struggled with dropped passes. Rob Moore became our WR coach in 2018. from 2016-2018 we had the same O-Line starters. in 2016 we allowed 25 sacks. Russ grim was our OLine coach. 2017 we swap him for mike sullivan and the o line sucks, then we get keith carter for that position coach and it still sucks, and has sucked in the same way ever since.
THIS is where our problems are coming from.

I havent seen folks acting like that. Most people are just finally waking up and seeing the reality that Mariota is afraid in the pocket and is mediocre and lacks the ability to take this team anywhere. He’s given games away each season, the serious fans watching every game know that and yesterday was a breaking point for many of them and an awakening to many of the folks that kept blindly defending MM for no reason at all. Folks are just pissed they’ve been defending Mariota more multiple seasons in a row and he hasn’t changed at all even though the team around him on all sides has improved.

C’mon Mike, what the hell is going on!?

    Robert Fisk Reply

@Tornado Freaks Yeah, but they gave up big plays on defense. As a fan of the Buckeyes, I never thought Marcus was all that, but I have seen some great play out of him. But you might be right…

    RotaryPerfection Reply

@Robert Fisk MM biggest problem is he has some amazing days them he has days like this. I’m getting tired of the back and forward with his play. MM doesn’t use his legs nearly enough. With the O-line struggling so much, he needs to make it a point to get out of the pocket sooner rather than later because his scrambling ability with allow for the receivers to get more open.

    Dee09 Motivation Reply

@RotaryPerfection Marcus sucks period. We will never win a super bowl with him at QB

    RotaryPerfection Reply

@Dee09 Motivation Now I wouldn’t say that! Marcus didn’t suck in those last 2 playoff games so that tells me he knows how to step his game up. Problem is we need more of that MM during the regular season.

    Dee09 Motivation Reply

@RotaryPerfection I would say that. Plus that playoff game he played badd for 3 quarters in that game. We won cause of team effort. He always plays bad. I can only think of like 6 or 7 games he’s had really good games. Come on bro. He’s played in the NFL for 4seasons this is his 5th.. that’s terrible.

Keep feeding Henry the ball!

    Brenda Hohensee Reply

No doubt he’s the best playmaker on that team – they have to get him the ball way more – even if it’s quick throws and let him break open.

We need a QB who can stretch the field.

FYI we almost won without 3 of our starting Olinemen. No Lewan, No KP and Ben Jones was sick almost didnt play and did play sick in that heat but was pretty unless. We could not run play action with how that Dline was getting in so quick. Also meant we could not get a lot on our runs late. We really need our online so we can run and run play action. Also need to be better at our 2min drills we spiked to much. Need a handfull of go to plays rather than spike.

    MyFandomTV Reply

Honestly I want to see at least 5 games, with Marcus healthy and the Oline healthy and the receivers we got. Just to see what he can do. We have had the worst timing and luck.

Wesa Zazoo Reply

Our O Line struggled, seemed like Marcus couldn’t get a man down field or was off.

Wanna see how they do on O when Taylor comes back…tbs MM has to make quicker decisions when the pocket breaks down smh…seems like ive said this b4

    RotaryPerfection Reply

Yep! Marcus missed some check downs on two of those sacks and open targets due to him not going through his progressions on the plays he had time to scan the field. He has to be in the frame of mind that he needs to get rid of the football or get out of the pocket sooner than later because by the time he realizes the pocket is collapsing, it’s too late. I wish he would watch some tape of Vince Young because VY was an expert at feeling the pressure and getting the hell out dodge when he needed too.

    Thomas Cogdill Reply

Its not like he he doesnt have the mobilty…just freezes, again a betterline wouldo wonders…not much time on some of those.

    RotaryPerfection Reply

@Thomas Cogdill O-line play is sub par right now but MM still needs to use his legs more to get out of danger sooner than later. He doesn’t feel the pressure soon enough to react and get out (or freezes as you said). This is the NFL and you cant be freezing like this especially in your 5th year. I’m not seeing any growth in pocket awarness and that’s a problem for me. MM is as mobile as guys like Vince Young and Steve Mcnair but he doesnt have their pocket awareness. I wish he did though!

When Lewan is back he better catch a TD

Wondering if Marcus is reading the open WR’s, or if he just can’t trust his arm or the WR’s to turn and face the ball on time. After watching the game again there was more than I liked of open WR’s. The Colt’s game really sucks cause it makes Marcus look bad, and yet if he plays well this Thursday, we all say he’s OK. Marcus first full season we saw a much better QB with potential then but something is not working out for him cause he still looks the same. I’m getting real nervous for Marcus, been talking him up here in Auckland NZ for the last 4 years. I’m tired of these main franchise team supporters telling me only the real franchise teams have a chance of winning the SB, and the rest of the NFL teams (Titans) are just there to play the franchise teams. Let’s go underdog!

True. OL coach, QB coach and WR coach are not very good.

Vicki Smith Reply

I have to laugh at all the commenters on here who act like they know it all. Raise your hand if you were a college QB, now raise your hand if you were an NFL QB. Probably no hands raised. You make comments that are not factual about Marcus, like he can’t read a defense or some numbnuts on another blog who thinks he doesn’t know how to audible. Marcus is what the Titans have made him, he didn’t arrive this way. He came to a shitty losing team, they gave him a joke for a QB coach, so basically no one really helped him transition to the NFL game until he got a real QB coach last year, changed coaches, OC’s and playbooks like underwear, yet they have 3 winning seasons, and you’re still bitching. I hope he does go to another team, though I will miss coming to Nashville for a game or two every year. And if they treat the new QB like they’ve treated Mariota, you’ll be bitching again in no time.

Colts OLine was extremely dominant! The play calling off a dominant line is a lot easier than getting scrubbed like ROGER SAFFOLD! Geez! Big bucks no whammy!

Out of all games… How could we lose this one? They just retired two jerseys of players that were known for making clutch plays and playing tough.. Ugh what a huge let down.. They HAVE to win their next game.. lol
