The Vikings need to seriously fire whoever their sound tech is. I could do a better job myself.
I can hear everything perfectly. The reporters were just as clear as Pettine. Maybe they adjusted it after the initial complaints.

Landscape, and the candidate pool from the bottom up? Is he talking about how there are no white corners in the league, and hasn’t been for 20 years? Or maybe the fact that there’s only 1 white RB? Are there even any asian players or coaches in the NFL? When you’re talking about a league that’s 70% black, it sorta looks like systemic racism and should be addressed. I hope the NFL is doing something to get a wider range of diversity at some of these positions. I mean Eskimo children have nobody to identify with at this level for crying out loud.

This is awesome! This isn’t quotas, this isn’t tokenism, this is training candidates so that they are the best person for the job. You’re not going to get immediate results but for the long term I think this is great

Sounds like all white reporters asking the questions. They need a similar program to be more diverse.
Because the black people are the ones on the field playing. There aren’t as many black reporters because that just isn’t their thing lol. Which is completely fine. Reporters are kind of annoying anyways lol.

Mike Pettine explained the initiative extremely well, fantastic idea.
Why do they even post it if you can’t hear half the stuff they are talking about.
In many ways I’m fully supportive of this initiative. I’m just a little concerned about how easily it could turn into “filling a quota.”
And another potential issue that probably isn’t discussed nearly enough is this: Is “diversity” only related to skin color/gender, or does it also include diversity of thought and background? To phrase it another way, there are “white” kids who grow up very poor, whereas there are some “black” people who grow up very rich? Is this program taking that into account in any way? I’m not necessarily saying it needs to, as I don’t have all the details of all lower level employees across the entire NFL. I just figured it’s worth asking. I mean, it’s quite obvious that if you focus on the players rather than the coaches, the concept of “diversity” takes on a whole new meaning.
