Mike Glennon and Vincent Jackson’s Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 6

Mike Glennon and Vincent Jackson put on an early show at home against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, connecting on two touchdown passes before halftime.

Michael Fabiano of NFL.com noted Jackson made a spectacular catch on his second touchdown reception of the game, which put the Tampa Bay Buccaneers up over the Eagles by three points heading into halftime:

What a great catch by Vincent Jackson! Another TD from Mike Glennon.

Fantasy owners expecting this kind of production from the duo on a weekly basis would be smart to temper expectations, however.

The Eagles feature one of the NFL’s worst pass defenses, ranking No. 29 in the league before the contest while allowing 326 yards per game and 11 total passing touchdowns.

Philly’s defense is a mess, and there are a few tough upcoming games for the Buccaneers that are likely to result in poor showings by Glennon and consequently Jackson.

After Tampa Bay’s Week 7 contest against the Atlanta Falcons—a team currently reeling with a 1-4 record—the Bucs will host the Carolina Panthers and then travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks. Both teams feature top-10 pass defenses, and the ‘Hawks are especially tough at home.

This excellent production is certainly exciting, but nobody should expect it to become a regular occurrence for Jackson and his rookie quarterback.
