It’s been said that the NFL is a copycat league. Drew Lock has adopted the Mahomes turn and sprint behind the LOS to the equivalent depth of a 10-12 step drop to give him time to throw the long ball as opposed to the more common back pedal drop. Even Baker Mayfield is attempting this technique . These defenses need to read this tell and react accordingly, if they haven’t already. Imho… If a QB turns his back to the LOS and sprints backwards 15 yards it’s pretty likely he’s looking to throw deep .
