Matt Eberflus: ‘We’re starting to create the culture we want’ | Chicago Bears – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Barry Turner

Coach Eberflus is a breath of fresh air for the Bears!

    Cristian Gomez

You say that now but watch Bears fans in the middle of the season saying fire Matt I know not every bears fans are like that but I know there are some that would say that

    Cristian Gomez

@Electric believe me he is 10 times better then Matt Nagy

    Electric

    @Cristian Gomez I know

    Theo Irving

As long as he calls plays that fields can throw more than 5+ yards we good.

Bears Edits

We needed the opposite of Nagy. I think we got that in coach Flus πŸ»β¬‡οΈ

I love this coach !

Paul Attiq

What a difference between this guy and Nagy. I can actually understand what Flus is talking about. Nagy was just speaking Jibberish.

    DarRell Jones

    You really don’t understand the why’s??? πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ»β¬‡οΈ

    Thomas Gena

That’s because Eberflus knows what he’s taking about, Paul. Nagy was in over his head — and relied on the flim flam.

IMMA SAY THIS IM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH COACH AND HIS VERY DETAILED ANSWERS…… THIS IS A REALLLLLLLL NFL HC!!!!!

    rob daniel

First he says they were notified early on. Then he blames the players going to hard. Says they had a meeting with players about it. Of course, it happens again and then he says he doesn’t know how it was found out.

I like Flus, but he lied, sidestepped, and blamed the players without taking any ownership of the issue. Really lame.

I think your Caps lock is broken

    just like everyone with nagy

rahkim0431

I swear our beat reporters ask some of the least desired questions of any team

    Thomas Gena

That’s because the Chicago sports media are all weasels that have never played the game — other than Madden NFL.

    Electric

@Thomas Gena It could also be that the Bears organization threatens to take credentials away for asking questions they don’t like. I believe this is why JJ Stankevitz left the Chicago media market for Indianapolis.

Call me absolutely insane but I just have a feeling the Bears are gonna surprise a lot of folks this season. Their schedule is very manageable and if Fields really takes a big step, I mean 10-7 doesn’t sound that crazy to me

    Thomas Gena

@Jose Bahena Absolutely. These WRs have more talent than the ones that Mitch Trubisky had in 2018, when the Bears went 12-4.

    Jose Bahena

@Thomas Gena I would say they are about the same. And that year they went 12-4 because of the defense. They will be lucky if they get 6 wins. Don’t believe the reports. The o-line and d-line need significant work. The Bears will be good in two years. At that point they will detrone Rodgers.

    Thomas Gena

@Jose Bahena You forget Jose, no more Matt Nagy killing drives in (or approaching) the Red Zone, by insisting the offense run plays with J.P. Holtz on the field.
Now you may think that Holtz was fine (a good blocker?). Simply not true. Plays that involve inept blockers make life a lot more difficult for the o-line (I speak from experience). And you may not realize it (the Chicago sports media “weasels” never did) that Nagy’s use of J.P. Hotlz was “a tell” to the opposing defense. The defender assigned to cover the TE could come up in the box; act as a free safety or “monster man” or Mike LB — because there was no chance Hotlz would break though and catch a pass for a long gain — Nagy only threw to Holtz one time in two years — J.P.’s last 29 games — ONE TIME. And that pass was incomplete!
So, you and the media can blame the offensive line — but under Nagy’s silly schemes (and I haven’t even mentioned Juan Castillo and Mike Furrey’s inept position coaching) even solid players like Kyle Long looked confused.
The Bears are a better team, today simply through addition (of H.I.T.S.) by subtraction (of Nagy & Co.).
Want proof? Watch how quickly this, largely Ryan Pace roster, comes together under Eberflus, Getsy and Morgan.
You are.right about the D-line, however. But that was Ryan Poles little ego trip — losing: Akiem, Eddie, and Bilal, without even a try.. At least Poles got something for Khalil — and he still might sign Ogunjobi (although the Jets passed on Larry, too) or trade for Da’Ron Payne (Poles can only take so much money with him to next year). So, we’ll see.

    Jose Bahena

@Thomas Gena I agree Nagy was beyond predictable and his play calling was abysmal. But the team is still full of inexperienced players. I think people are underestimating the Lions. Everyone thinks that they will be two easy Ws for the Bears but I am not too sure. I will bet you $20 that the Bears don’t get more than 7 wins.

    Thomas Gena

@Jose Bahena I appreciate a man who puts his money where his mouth is — probably because I don’t (bet, that is).
But, I think you’re right about the Lions, Jose. As a matter of fact, I was having a similar conversation regarding the Lions, and expressed my concern that if they replaced Goff with Mitchell Trubisky, the Bears and the rest of the NFC might be in for an unpleasant surprise.
The Lions have quietly added some quality players — and Mitch would be affordable, and allow them to use a future first-round selection on a position player other than QB.
If you still think the Bears are a 7-10 team (I’m thinking 10-7) after training camp, let me know. I can aways use the money.
    Enjoy the season!

Frank Zepeda

Great job coach Flus getting them ready I believe they will be disciplined and tough. And I trust they will play hard for you and the coaching staff. That’s what we needed here true leadership and direction and attention to detail. It’s good to have a coach who experience shows and knows what he’s doing. I am excited to see them hit the ground running this season. BEAR DOWN πŸ’― Coach Flus culture and identity

Ability Disc Golf

Matt β€œshut your damn mouth” Eberflus.

I love seeing him command the respect of these snakes we have for the media. I can just see and hear how shook they sound when he stonewalls one of their manipulative questions. Not only will our team have a whole new culture and level of respect for the game, but by the end of the season this media staff will too! Let’s go. BEAR DOWN!!!

You can see the drastic change from Matt Nagy. We have a Head coach thank god. Detailed answers with explanation no more Y’s.

So far he sounds like a Coach the Bears needed

Il TMac lI

Man there is something about Flus, it’s getting me more and more excited for this year and the future. He’s so well spoken and he seems to have a very clear vision for this team and it’s hard to not be very optimistic for what’s to come. If we can get the offense in the 13-18 range and have our defense scratching at the top 10 we will surprise a lot of people. I just want this team to be competitive and keep games close even if it doesn’t result in a W

Oliver Lacey

As I life long bears fan I’m cautiously optimistic about this new regime. I know it’s a young team and it will be a few years before you can really expect a serious run out of them. But I’ve heard all the talk before.

Pete Mac

You can never measure what is in a man’s heart. The Bears will only surprise you doubters. I won’t be surprised. I expect the Bears to win no less than 10 games.
