Matt Eberflus reflects on loss to Lions | Chicago Bears – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE

Embarrassing game.💯😔

Will Vaughn

This wasn’t a loss. This was a beating

@Jim George lol lol lol lol lol lol

@Jim George As a Lions fan, I was rooting for the Lions to actually draft Justin Fields when he came out. I’m glad our GM Holmes didn’t and took Sewell the O-lineman. J. Fields at this point looks closer to a franchise RB than a QB. You can make all the excuses you want for him but the Lions have the statistically worse defense in the league and the guy threw for sub 80 yards and 7 completions. He holds onto the ball too long on every passing play. If he can’t diagnose plays faster and coverage he’s not your guy and you’ll have to move on to someone that can throw the ball. I root for the guy though, he has special talent but he’s not that much different than Malik as a passer. Extremely raw and is struggling to deliver the football on time.

    Jim George

@ender treho his passer rating says he’s a good qb. Sorry. You guys are stuck with Geoff.

    Big block 472

@Jim George7-21 for 30 net yards is NOT NFL worthy. A fumble lost and INT only add to the misery. Oh wait, he did have one passing TD😂

    ender treho

@Jim George I’m thrilled to have Goff for two more seasons at minimum. He’s a solid pro QB who is playing at a very high level.

Lerrato

I know the roster sucks but I’m not sure about this guy. He’s made some very questionable decisions at times…

    Ryan Candee

The problem is that we can’t keep changing coaching staffs and stunting the growth of Justin. The team can be good with a better roster and I feel like we’ll get there. Unless we can get a coach like Sean Payton or someone with a proven track record of winning Flus isn’t going anywhere. Sean McDermott had shown us that a defensive minded coach can win with the right people. Be patient and trust the process. 🐻⬇️

    Jacob Gross

    Our GM isnt the guy

I'm Awesome

Didn’t think 2022 Bears would be THIS bad

    Justin Rakestraw

I knew it would be when we traded our best players for low picks. I promise you this defense would be so much better with Quinn Mack and Smith. It’s ridiculous to think that we traded Smith for so little. The kid was a transcendent player at MLB in his early prime and kept the Bears halfway respectable. Then they made it worse by trading our second round pick for Claypool who is TERRIBLE!! I warned everyone this kid couldn’t play. I said it’s insane that we gave up a second pick for a player in his 3 rd year that hasn’t had a 1,000 yard season. It’s clear he regressed and hasn’t done anything for the Bears.

    Space Ghost

@Jim George Patriots ? SO WHAT?

    Jacob Gross

    They are awful

    dakid

@Jim George You’re right had poles not come in here and completely obliterate the roster this team would’ve won 9 games. Look at all those close games they gave away this year

    Steve B

@Justin Rakestraw thank god your not the GM hey let’s keep Mack at 30 mil a year for 7 sacks Quinn was here for what 7-8 games yet had like 1-2 sacks. Obviously, the Bears would’ve got more for Roquan if somebody actually offered more for him. He wasn’t staying here after this year anyways so at least they got something for him. But keep going with all your pretend knowledge

Michael M

That wasn’t game experience, that was a mugging Justin went through today.

    Jim George

Leaving him in there after seeing the line couldn’t protect him makes me doubt that eberfluse should be the coach going forward.

    Big block 472

    @Jim GeorgeI agree there!

Bill Shun

Matt “ we got to do a better job “ Eberflus.

Ryan Rodriguez

Receivers can wait… We need to protect #1…

    Javhon Sago

    Exactly.

Pierre Boyd

This season went exactly how I thought it would go. Ik we had one of the worse OL N DL. The surprising part to me was Fields was still able to rise above his talentless team. The sole blame for this year if u wanna call it a failure is Ryan poles. Elberflus looked good at times n bad the whole staff did. But when u have a Gm wit his eyes on future theirs only so much u can do, it’s a talent based league.

Logiquol

To all you rebuild fan boys, how you feelin now? Still think we’re turning this dump around in 1 year? Quitting during an NFL game is a huge red flag for coaching. Hopefully ‘Flus reviews the tape better this week.

Calm Down

Chicago love and 1000% support for my favorite NFL team Thee Chicago Bears. Teven Jenkins you are a warrior you reaggravated the neck injury from a previous game. You were absolutely the rock on this young offensive line. LT Jones you are a bad azz. You have fought hard for my favorite NFL team. Thank you. Justin Fields what can I say except; you are a master piece still being created. To the entire Chicago Bears offense thank you for your effort. To Big Leatherwood; I want you to study and work on your game because, you have the potential to go to Canton. Canton is also in play for Fields, Kmet. LT Jones, OG Jenkins, LB Sanborn, S Brisker and, CB Gordon. To the Bears defense. You guys kept the Bears in games even after the veterans were traded to other teams. I want to say thank you. Brighter days are ahead. To Special teams; thank you. One more game. Play to win like you guys did all year. I want GM Poles and Coach Flus to go into the 2023 NFL draft and do better than you did in the 2022 draft. By the way; you guys did pretty dog gone good in the 2022 draft. Hopefully you can do a little bit better in the 2023 draft. Cheers! Hail the mighty Bears cometh! PS: That TE at Notre Dame Michael Mayer would look good opposite of Kmet.

Dan Sharp

Did these guys go out and party last night? They played like they did.

Dennis Lane

Even when your down and out, you MUST give an EFFORT which these guys didn’t do

Mark D.

This team is worse than the teams under Nagy with Trubisky as quarterback. At least they “tried” to win! This team has a quarterback who is afraid to stay in the pocket and find his secondary receivers. Both lines stink! The coaches stink! Management stinks! Ownership stinks! HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS CRAP!!!

GoldenGolem

even though he’s been ok all season, this game showed me Flus also needs a lot of work. even though Fields is telling him he wants to stay, he’s the HC, he has to make the smart decision, no matter how the player feels

Javhon Sago

JF1 had no time to operate. Everything is experience with this year, I’m glad to see JF1 maintaining his posses in the pocket even though he’s getting lit-up

j Rowdy GI

Just mailing it in and picking up game checks now. I’m ready for at least 30 new players next year.

conlanding

Without their Week 7 win at New England, the Bears would’ve lost 13 consecutive games meaning they would not had won a game since Week 3 of the season on September 25, 2022.

I’m assuming their game against Minnesota on Sunday will be a 3:00pm kickoff which would be the same time San Francisco kicks off against Arizona since the both the Vikings and 49ers are fighting for the # 2 playoff seed or maybe the # 1 playoff seed..

PHILosophy 1990

Negligence keeping Justin in the 4th quarter. Getsy called a bad game too. Buddy was clearly hobbled and was getting touched toooooo much. The line (on both sides) was TERRRRRRIBLE! Justin didn’t play well, I’m not blind. He has to be better too.

This was easily the worst game, overall, this season. We have so many pieces we need, to be competitive. The life of a Bears fan 🥲.

Hopefully they draft smart and sign good agent’s. This regime is still washing away all the Ryan Pace leftovers. The roster will definitely look different next season.
