@Malik Harper I still believe once he learns the NFL play book, he’ll take the starting job. He will 3 games to show it.
Just the way he talks to the press already has me thinking he has a better football mind than Darnold.
First think I noticed too. He seems more thoughtful with his responses. Darnold came across as a bit dim by comparison.
Dude is already making reads from one side of the field to the other- something Sam and many other NFL QBs struggle with.
You seen him against NFL talent already? There a game happen i missed? Where do you see him doing so, against what NFL teams that wanna destroy him? Getting ahead of yourself.
@MorsUmbra I mean he is in minicamp against other NFl players so yes I suppose I have seen him against NFL talent. Do I think he is ready to start? Absolutely not- dude is struggling to manage the huddle and make adjustments on the line. That stated Im tired of watching Sam have 3 open recievers before he chucks the ball to a blanket covered DJ that he’s been locked onto since the ball was snapped (news flash this isnt a new problem with Sam either). For the time being I will hope that Matt can soak up as much knowledge as is possible and ready himself to compete for the job if it becomes available.
Don’t take anything from Sam Darnold.

Temper Expectations Fans for Matt Corral who will need a good year of learning the Pro Game from handling a Huddle, Calling Plays, Taking a Snap from under Center, getting his Drop back Steps efficiently and timely, going thru his progressions, etc,etc ..
All new things for him so give him time to master the fundamentals and then the skyâs the Limit !

When you get the mentality that they’re are no days off when you are chasing greatness …. because when you are resting your opp is sharpening their craft….. becoming better then you .. you have to work every single day … You need to be the first one there and the last one to leave … I’m coming to Spartanburg I wanna see this kid’s work ethic …
