Malik Willis FULL Pro Day Highlights: Every Throw – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE

I think he’s solidified his place as a top 15 pick in the eyes of these coaching staffs. Could be the first or second QB off the board.

    Bo J.

I believe he’s gonna be the first. Toolsy quarterbacks are in, and teams want a guy with the POTENTIAL to take their team to the super bowl. I think he’s the only one who really fits that description. If you don’t have the tools you have to be perfect at everything else.

    Top 5

    Manu Ginobili's Hair

No, he will be the first qb taken.

    Bradley Atcheson

    Detroit welcomes you!

OldTownScouts

Where he goes is totally gonna determine his success. I’d really love to see him go to Seattle, and let them ease him in with only 15-20 throws a game

    Cam Bell

@Wyatt Barnes Plenty of good coaching in Seattle. Plenty of money and picks to shore up the line. Great Receivers. Great Ownership. There will be some pressure from being seen as a possible replacement for a franchise legend though.

    Stephen Waugh

    @Flareon i know

    GNamedreagan

That’s what I’m thinking if your replacing Wilson this guy fits that kid pretty well

    Sharrybay Thompson

@Wyatt Barnes detroit is definitely not using their 2nd pick on a QB and by the time they can use their next pick he’ll be gone

    Wyatt Barnes

@Sharrybay Thompson I don’t think they should either but it’s been talked about in the media a lot in the Detroit area and the team seems to like Willis.

Jake Pena

Offered his receiver water before he got some himself. A small, selfless detail. Gonna be rooting for this guy no matter where he goes, as long as it isn’t a division rival lol

    DatBoiBizzle

@RICK 0716-C na this is a real Christian dude parents raised him well I’ll be a fan as long as he’s in the league shoot my panthers might take a chance on him but I think we’re leaning towards Kenny Pickett which I ain’t mad at either I think Pickett is underrated

    RaphThaTurtle

Seen that as I was reading the comment! Selfless 💯💯

    Lana Felix

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣✋

    Ultima

His optimism reminds me of Cam Newton. 🙂

    Mo Bomba

    @Jake Pena lmfao

Nate Clermont

The amount of fun everyone is having was unmatched. That’s a great culture at Liberty U. You can tell Malik sets the tone.

    C. H.

He may be a generational talent.. impossible to replace type of talent

    cobrabosse

Ahh yes, the culture of Jerry Falwell Jr…. 🤣

    Troy Polamalu #SamoanIslands #PittsburghIcon #SC

    It’s a Christian University.
They are probably more compassionate, understanding and supportive than a regular University.

Korean Jesus

You can tell he’s a leader by the way he acts: 16:01 and 17:16 for an example . He truly cares for his teammates, the little things like when his teammates drop a pass, he tells them to wipe it off and move on, that’s huge and it just comes to show his character. People may nitpick his game, but his character is unquestionable. Big things coming for Malik.

    Rocket TV

Don’t forget 13:30 where he asks his WR if he’s good and attempts to get him some water

    Mo Alston

Do good with intention not for attention

    Mo Alston

    @Rocket TV respect MW

    Korean Jesus

@Rocket TV Yessir, I meant to put that timestamp in there but couldn’t find it lol

Galactic Gas

I love how every time they tried to take those little jabs, Willis just lit it up!! Haha

Malik Willis, although he might not be ready to start in Year 1, is DEFINITELY the kind of player I would want to lead my franchise.

    Menzy

@SUPERMAX AND THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE ? Nothing about his game is Mac Jones like. He also definitely isn’t pro ready whereas Mac was an easy plug and play starter

    ant

    Nah he starting

    Cam Bell

@diegodayzz __ Might take a bit to get used to the NFL though. The other QBs you referenced, besides Big Ben (HOF), all came from bigger schools. Maybe more like Josh Allen. He could be great though. Woldn’t mind seeing Seattle take a shot with him.

    Ryu Ken

hope he goes to a place with a good line. his line was horrible in college

    McJazbo 10

@SUPERMAX AND THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE he’s the most polar opposite of mac jones i’ve ever seen

Dajuan Davis

NFL network not having a camera in a good spot to see the throws after all these years of pro days is baffling

the part on 17:16 where he tells the receiver who dropped the pass to “wipe it off” was so cool to see! As a Lions fan, I want to get Aidan at #2 but would not be too upset if we take him!

    Richard Coleman

Not at #2, only if there is a trade down.

Ted Walker

It sure would be nice to finally see the Lions have a dual threat QB. I’ve never seen that. Got to see Andre Ware for a couple beers but he wasn’t a threat at anything. Get this kid at #2.

    Thomas Watkins

Warming up to the idea. I see shades of a young Daunte Culpepper here (pre injury). Some forget how very good he was. This kid would be a nightmare to bring down near the goal line. Couple him with Swift & the team might finally start converting some of those red zone trips.

ØSKY

This man is a true QB. The way he reacts when his receiver drops a ball and the way he reacts when they make a tough catch tells A LOT. He’s clearly a true leader, incredibly athletic, and has a CANNON. My only concern is really his accuracy in between the numbers. When he’s chucking it deep down the sideline, whether on a rope for an 18 yard comeback, or a 70-yard go route, he’s incredible. His footwork is a little sloppy at times on in-breaking routes, but that’s such an easy fix for a guy with his arm talent. He reminds me of Jalen Hurts with a stronger arm.

    Peter Bergstrom

He does have incredible talents. Truly a QB1. He’s put the ball on the ground in the red zone a few too many times, and thus fumbling is the biggest concern from my perspective

    Michael Vose

Yes and no with the Jalen Hurts comparison. I’m a Sooners & Eagles fan. Hurts is a running QB like Willis but not as gifted a passer, he is very mature and flush with intangibles and leadership ability like Willis but in a different way. Jalen Hurts can’t diagnose progressions nearly fast enough against NFL players he hardly gets through one read before tucking and running and every time he does see the play through he rolls out splitting the field in half even when not designed. His accuracy is way more inconsistent compared to Willis, he has the worst deep ball in the league while Willis has a great deep ball Hurts predetermines he’s going deep and just loads up and throws it as far as he can usually past the receiver because he lacks NFL arm strength and just puts everything into it trying to get it there. The arm strength is like A for Willis and C- or D+ for Hurts. On the All 22 Film Devonta Smith was wide open within 3-5 seconds from the snap on at least 80-90 routes and Hurts never sees him or looks his way because he’s already decided to run, almost as many routes for Goedert as well. The O-line is great no reason for that. After all that you’d think I hate Hurts I don’t he’s very smart a great leader and so mature/motivated but his arm even being “NFL caliber” might be a stretch right now, he can still have success by working on strength and refining his accuracy, knowing his limits and if he can learn to stick with a play and go through 2-3-4 options before fleeing the pocket, there’s potential for a future because he didn’t start learning the details of being a good passer until his SR season with Lincoln Riley but watching him right now can be super frustrating believe me lol

    ØSKY

@Michael Vose I totally agree. I was gonna add more context and got sidetracked and said screw it I’ll just comment what I had lol. I see some Jalen Hurts in Willis mainly in terms of just how he throws the ball. Good wide base, strong legs (although Hurts is clearly the more powerful runner who should probably utilize that strength more… except I understand teams not wanting to put their “franchise QB” at risk for those types of hits). Willis was a victim of questionable play calling at times in college and I definitely think if given the right fit, he’ll thrive. He definitely doesn’t get enough credit for his processing ability. Smaller school guys (and controversially the “black QB” stereotype) make draft pundits doubt those abilities. We saw Trey Lance get praised for his pre-snap pass pro knowledge coming out of NDSU, yet Willis is getting the “he can play right away if used in packages like we saw with Trey Lance in SF this year…” If he can shore up some of that footwork and be consistent throwing all over the field, his arm strength is definitely strong enough to make up for however long the learning curve takes to adjust to NFL speeds. Might be a little bold to say this but he can easily be that dude like Josh Allen. Just give him a good organization who believes in him and will let him figure it out. It’s a shame the NFL has gotten so impatient with its young QBs, especially black QBs. I mean, why was a 1-year starter taken over a guy who made back to back national championships, winning the latter (*cough cough* Mitch Trubisky) 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is one of the most lit and exciting pro day’s that I’ve watched in a while. You can tell he’s having fun throwing the football, when he’s receivers make deep catches. He’s going to be great.

Mediocrely_Extraordinary02

I am praying, for the sake of the sport, that this man goes to the right situation. Could be the next Josh Allen in terms of development

    Menzy

Josh Allen’s development is really the outlier though. Very small chance he can get developed properly to become a legit NFL starter, let alone an elite one like Allen. He has everything it takes though

    I am Love

Only smart people knows that anything can happen in the future , so it’s kinda stupid to even have these conversations with doubters

    Tone Bangerz

    @I am Love well said

    Introducing Mr. Lucci

I think his ceiling is closer to Tyrod Taylor.

    Tone Bangerz

@Introducing Mr. Lucci imo Tyrod is pretty good. Just was dealt a band hand

Drip

He’s going to be very good in the NFL, has all the talent and why I think he’ll be very good is he has it above the shoulders.

wells 6570

I love how he told his receiver to brush it off when the ball was dropped. After all the videos we have seen on him, this guy is amazing on and off of the field!

Isaac Raj

His reaction at 9:16 is all you need to know about Malik’s character. He’s a leader.

    John DOE

“Wipe those damn butter off your glove”

    Joe Schoen

Hes a leader but took his team to a CFB playoff

Pinncom2016

As a student attending Liberty, this is the first time I’ve ever seen another Alum go pro! He will be an asset to any organization he gets drafted.

Everything I’ve heard about him has been nothing but positive. He’s the kind of player that I would take the risk on. He has the kind of personality that’s hard to come by. He’s got raw talent. I hope the Steelers get him whether he falls or if they can trade up to get him.
