Making Lasagna-Style Spaghetti Squash with DCC | Dallas Cowboys 2020
Tonight, we’re in the kitchen with Tess as she recreates one of her favorite low carb dishes, Lasagna-Style Spaghetti Squash 👩🍳 🍝
You’ll need:
-1 spaghetti squash
-Drizzle of olive oil
-Salt/pepper/oregano, to taste
-1 cup of your favorite pasta sauce
-1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella
-1/2 cup of grated parmesan
-1/3 cup ricotta cheese
-1/4 cup chopped onions, any variety of color
-1 clove of garlic, minced
-Sliced tomato, basil leaves, pepperonis, or any other toppings you would like on a pizza!
Preparation:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
2. Use a fork to pierce holes in the spaghetti squash. Microwave for 5 minutes.
3. LET COOL about 5-10 min BEFORE HANDLING then slice the squash in half length-wise with a sharp knife
4. Scoop out the seeds and drizzle squash with oil and seasonings
5. Place the squash face down on a tray and roast for 40 minutes
6. Meanwhile, in a large bowl mix the remaining ingredients into the pasta sauce. Set some cheese aside for topping.
7. When squash is tender, remove from oven and use a fork to fluff the insides and create the noodle texture.
8. Transfer your sauce mixture into the squash noodles, then top with a layer of shredded mozzarella/parmesan and your choice of toppings.
9. Return to the oven to broil for 10-12 minutes, or until cheese is golden brown!
