it wasn’t Mills fault but he’s still not the answer at qb. we need a QB that can utilize his legs . Most QBs these days are mobile.
what you’re talking about is the old NFL. Those quarterbacks are about to retire . This league doesn’t use statue quarterbacks anymore. That’s why Matt Ryan and Ryan Tannehill is going to be out the league. Josh Allen can use his legs, Lamar Jackson can use his legs , Tua can use his legs , Dashaun Watson can use his legs and Mahomes can use his legs . Most front offices are drafting quarterbacks who can run . Just look at the draft prospects Stroud and Bryce young. A quarterback can’t do everything but it’s good to have one that is a threat as a passer and runner.

The Texans played a solid game until the defense gassed out. The Texans need another linebacker and defensive lineman.
@Roberto Contreras yeah bryce young is good but when they run on us this dirty and QB gets no pressure with zone coverage… We need pass rusher that can stop the run.

@Allen Bass Sauce’s playing well but I’d have taken linebacker Devin Lloyd. He was top 10 on some mock drafts but top 5 would of been a stretch. Still, he’s played great so far this year.

Lovie is showing you why no other team wanted him as HC. He was never really good and the game has passed him by. He is directly responsible for this poorly coached and undisciplined defence. This what you get when you settle at the HC position. He’s not much of an upgrade from Culley.

They can’t tackle. The linebackers they have feel entitled and play like they know thas they irreplaceable. They are just horrible. Why isn’t Garrett wallow seeing playing time? He can’t be any worse..
Davis Mills looked a lot better but…. all we have is rookies who are starters. next season, with the same approach in a game plan,will be very entertaining. Pierce, looked awesome.

On the bright side the whole team saw what the next level looked like from another team. Win or lose all year long either way is good for the Texans. Keep working fellas!
How about a defensive coordinator.
Lovie is the defensive coordinator as well. Still, Lovie should hire a defensive coordinator so he can fully concentrate on the head coaching duties.
@Nathan Cano That defense gets torched too often. Why aren’t they putting wallow in. He can’t be any worse. The linebackers are slow and look confused. The secondary isn’t good. That falls on lovie. Stingley gets toasted a lot. I think they missed on that pick. Inexcusable . This game was 100% on the defense.
@Allen Bass Yeah, I’d take Kirksey out and put Wallow in. I didn’t like when he didn’t tackle the wide receiver after he caught the ball, got back up and gained a few more yards. That’s a mental mistake on his part and Lovie should address that to him.

@Nathan Cano Heck when Carr fumbled the snap and just fell to the ground it took them a few seconds to touch him. I was they going to wait for him to get up and try to make a play. Team is undisciplined and play stupid. The linebackers really think that they are irreplaceable. They could do better. .
the commentators literally said their playbook is basic. y’all need creative trick plays because we’re constantly not converting on 3rd down

Texans need a QB that can change the playbook from basic to open. The need more players. This is a rebuilding process. All these posters talking about trash your confused and ignorant! They need to just play. Everyone is auditioning to stay on this team. Criticize not the coaches as this is still a remodel of a team that tried so hard to look like Patriot North.
Nah , Lovie Smith is terrible though. it’s a reason he got fired from Illinois and the buccaneers. His defense is outdated and he doesn’t blitz enough. zone coverage is a soft and terrible defense

It’s deeper than Mills, it’s easy to blame the QB but every team in the league RUNS all over us no matter the RB, they need to do surgery in this rebuild cuz we are the laughing Stocc of the league at this point… P.S. Still fire Mills 🚮
I wouldn’t call it a laughing stock this year because we had a chance to win every game and it’s obvious we need more pieces on this defensive front because everyone looked lost. Lovie Smith defense does work but we just need better players starting with the middle linebacker position Christian Kirksey is horrible! As far as the quarterback I think we’ve seen what he really can do played just as good as any starting quarterback this week. I think Davis is a lot more comfortable now and the learning process is over it’s all about him executing now. They are not that many pieces away from being a contender and I believe they’ll get the pieces in the off season starting with linebackers and defensive line but the secondary is very competitive this team is going to be good for the years to come.

at this point mills haters are either ignorant or trolling. the man threw for 302 and 2tds. his one pick was in crunch time yes but it was because the defense put him in that situation. this game was so winnable if roy lopez doesn’t go offsides. mills is improving every single game and is earning his spot and giving us leverage in the draft, 2023 is gonna be badass
