Who knows where his career will go, but I tell ya, Herbert is one of the best talents we have ever seen at the quarterback position.
Herbert is basically what Joe Flacco could’ve been if he was mobile
Mahomes, Allen, Tua, Hurts, Lamar, Dak, etc all have one thing in common. A decent defense and at least an average run game. Herbert doesn’t have any of that. Still top 5 in passing yards and TDs. I lost track of how many games the Bills, Ravens, Eagles, and Chiefs have won due to defense closing the game.

Staley is a defensive coach who’s quite frankly choking at his job
defense isn’t the problem. the problem is the offensive line and the head coach is too stupid to see it

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Brandon Staley is the most aggressive coach in the league. That conversion could be season-saving for the Chargers.

I love that he’s a little _too_ aggressive, but not by as much as last year. He’s still super aggressive, but dialing it back just slightly to the point that he’s maybe the right amount of aggressive. Once they get Herbert a good speed guy to throw to and tune up the defense they’re a legit contender. I don’t think they’re ready this year, but they’re close.

To suggest Staley is the most aggressive coach in the league doesn’t align with the data. Regardless, I don’t expect the Chargers to ever go very far with Telasco, Staley, & Lombardi. Hopefully, they will bring in Sean Payton in the off-season. It was an exciting Win vs a subpar team.
Can Kupka – as a lifelong Chargers fan I recommend to always have low expectations! Staley was brought in as this D guru yet they haven’t been able stop the run in yrs and their D hasn’t improved.
The Chargers a have always been an entertaining team to watch. Glad they got a win. That being said, I think Chargers fans would appreciate a game being over and leading by halftime atleast one game this season. Chargers fans cannot have a average human life expectancy at this point 😂😂😂

I’ve been a Charger fan all my life and I’m almost 60 years old.. I remember the early ’70s when the team couldn’t win a game.. I stayed a fan.. late seventies early ’80s when the team was good but yet couldn’t get to the super bowl.. I stayed a fan… And yes 2006, everything was in place I thought they’re going to win it all and they blew it in the playoffs… I stayed a fan… 2009, everything was in place great team looked like they’re going to go all the way.. and Nate Kadden can’t make a field goal in the playoffs against the Jets and they lose.. I stayed a fan.. all these years with the Bolts⚡⚡ they broke my heart so many times 😞 but yet I love them great win 👍
@Ralph melvin you’re a true fan. I remember countless heart breaking losses with a team that should’ve won it all a few times since I became a fan when I was a little kid. My first NFL game was LT breaking the single season rushing record against the broncos and I’ll never forget it. Dad bought me an LT jersey in the pro shop and we had great seats. Unfortunately it’s been hard with so much disappointment.
Cardinals, you gave my Chargers a run for their money and then some! You had me scared to death. The 2XP at the end was a very precarious but EPIC situation. Your fans must be PISSED OFF beyond belief (like the Chiefs’ fans were in 2018) but take pride in the fact that you posed a huge challenge to my Chargers. Great game!
hopefully us cards fans will look back at this game and remember how kliff’s fate was sealed and we welcome sean payton as our coach next year.

@Marz I’m impressed not only by the Cardinals’ efforts yesterday, but by how you defeated the Raiders earlier this season. You scored two TDs and two 2XPs in the 4th Quarter of that game to catch up, go to Overtime, and ultimately defeat the Raiders. Chargers need to really strategize for their second encounter with the Raiders. We’re not out of the desert, yet.
@Marz why would Payton want to coach a team with aging JJ, terrible overall defense and a joke of a QB? Also he’d have to move to AZ where he doesn’t have a residence. On the other hand, he has a residence in LA and the chargers are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball (when healthy) and have one of the most promising young QBs in the last 30 years. No way in HELL Payton goes to AZ if the Chargers job is open.

they finally let Herbert sling the ball and look at the result – W. and damn did we miss Keenan Allen, had some huge catches and allowed all of the other receivers to get in a groove as well. defense is still suspect but they showed some great flashes, and ultimately helped win the game. and Staley was aggressive enough to win the game – those are the chances we want to see him take! not going for it backed up in opponent territory. overall impressive win, hopefully we get some of our injured pieces back and can go on a run to finish the season. BOLT UP ⚡️⬆️
this was my first NFL game and boy was it an experience to remember! Not a Cards or Bolts fan but have a lot of respect for these 2 teams.
