I loved that team with Lomas Brown and Barry Sanders. And Wayne Fontes as the head coach. Those were fun times. I remember that playoff win over Dallas like it was yesterday.

…and being slaughtered a week later by Washington? OMG, that hurt…

These two are great. I’m so glad they do the post game recaps. I love the reactions in this video which we don’t really get in the post game bc they both face the camera and not each other. Love all of this

Lomas is truely a treasure. Honestly, one of the best personalities you’ll ever find. Waited in line to get an autograph his rookie year and he was just as personable then. Fantastic talent too. I was happy when he got his Super Bowl. And, it does my heart well to hear that Michigan is home. so easty to love you Lomas and we certainly do.

Elizabeth Oberlin

What a great interview. Lomas is such a real person.

Andy Kotz

It WAS such a bitter-sweet season… such high hopes for the Detroit Lions that year (1991) and the Lord knows Barry deserved it too.
Much respect for Mike Utley for the human he is and such a loss to bear for the Detroit Lions players and Eric Andolsek’s family soon after.

Lomas Brown = all class

I lived at the Kings Cove while I was going to Oakland University in 1977-78. I knew there were several Lions living there also. I met Ed O’Neil there.

Glad to hear Lomas talk history

How do you become one of the Florida Gators top 8 all time players and Florida hasn’t even notified you?🤔 You find out by a host in Michigan long after it’s been done? WOW 😳 That’s wild and crazy for such a big honor and huge deal. Congrats to Lomas Brown for being all around professional guy and good Lion legend. This story shows also how great Barry Sanders is and how he helped other men maintain there careers and get contracts on top of staying humble. Coach Wayne was a very likeable coach. Wish they still had him

O Line players rarely get praise, over a receiver, a QB, a Runner; as unfortunate as it sounds, the O line players are typically looked over unless they play absolutely perfect, or mess up.

    Jam City

@DukeofGames50 yeah but that’s wild and so DISRESPECTFUL to him that Lomas Brown had to find out from the host looking online instead of Florida telling him directly. That’s huge history to be top 8 at a big school. Blew my mind

    DukeofGames50

    @Jam City literal unsung heroes

Lomas Brown admitted to letting pass rushers sack Scott Mitchell. I cannot get past that. Completely unacceptable for any offensive lineman, and definitely a disqualification for being a “Lions Great.”

Josh Salas

Dude this guys funny as hell 😂

I met Lomas when his son Trey and my grandson played basketball together when they were probably about 12 years old. They both went to Pierce Middle School, and played football together too. Trey even joined the lacrosse team my grandson played on and my son coached. Since we usually sat together, Lomas and I had many conversations about the Lions, and other sports teams. He always would give his opinion, but never failed to ask for my opinion. Lomas is one of the nicest, kindest people I have ever met, and I feel fortunate for the time we spent together and that I can call him my friend.
