Why is the volume so low?
Are we really basing our future identity off that 4 game win streak lol. Literally squeaked every single one of those wins and each one could easily have been an L with one bounce.

I’ve been critical of Ron and Martin hopefully they can do what’s needed, at this point I’m sure to not agree with what they do. However, it only matters that they’re effective. Let’s see as time progresses, if the desired effects are in place.
Back in the day the winning formula was simply scoring more points than the other team, guess what, it’s still the winning formula. Beathard and later on Casserly didn’t have first round draft picks but could find the late round gems that won 3 Super Bowls. Art Monk, Mark May, and Darrell Green were the only first round picks from 1980 thru 1991. If you can keep the the other teams offense off the field for 8, 9, or 10 minutes they can’t score. A stout defense that gets the other guys on their bench after only 3 plays is the goal. Remember the Fourth quarter of the Tampa Game last season? 19 plays and 10 minutes? This isn’t freaking basket ball, run and gun. Strategy, game plans, execution, and frustrating the other team is the goal, beat them down, humiliate them. Gibbs adjusted his system to fit the players he had. After the draft, teams will be releasing quality players to fit under the salary cap, it happens every season. That’s the second half of free agency. Being able to find a player then to fill a need or upgrade a position could be the difference. The most important aspect is not having injuries, every season lately this has been the biggest problem. The end of last season was a perfect set up to take the East, all those injuries derailed that at the end of that 4 game winning streak.
I concur. After June, Wash. will have enough cap to get a veteran linebacker and another player.

If you didn’t cut Ioannides and let Settle walk you wouldn’t have had to panic and take a 5th round DT in 2nd round and could have got a great MLB instead.

I know Ron is huge on DL and is known to spend extra time on that unit, but his secondary philosophy about not needing great players back there and never having the same 4 starters every season is going to hurt this team.

ok two drafts by Ron and I’m not happy. It’s very disappointing to see that Ron doesn’t know how to use the draft. I have the sense that Martin Mayhew is better but the final call on the player is Ron, and by reading Martin’s body language he was not on board with the direction Ron went.

@Anthony Shannon Mathis can play 3 downs…Payne struggles at getting to the QB. you Mathis can actually sack the QB. Robinson is a better all around back. He catches the ball well. Doesn’t fumble and protects in passing downs…can’t say the same about any other back on the roster
@Ken Ben Israel so are you saying that Mathis will play more snaps then payne, or Robinson will get more touches then gibson?? If not then they are back ups?
@Anthony Shannon That’s exactly what I’m saying. Gibson is a hybrid player…not a true RB. He can’t get those tough 1-3yds. Doesn’t play like a back who’s 220lb. He doesn’t move the pile. And he fumbles too much. Robinson is the exact opposite. He runs downhill, holds on to the ball, can get those tough yards and is an excellent blocker. There’s a reason why Payne hasn’t been extended
