@Showtime Please stop with the “real fan” nonsense when it comes to the name. I went to games every year from 1981-2007. Saw every play of every game for 40 years. I am as big a fan as anyone on the planet of this team. I also am a reasonable person who understands how the world and business works. The name had to change. Commanders is a fine name that makes total sense for the area going forward. It takes some getting used to, but 10 years from now it will be entrenched, like nobody questions Packers, Bills, etc.. The hysterical, constant internet complaining does nothing to help this team win games, so to call it “fighting for the team” is dead wrong. It’s just following the internet herd in the complaint of the week.

Agreed. The funny thing about that is that those same folks who are “done” keep coming to every single post (name related or not) to comment about how they are “done”, which by definition means they are not “done”. Pick a new team today and move on…or start watching tennis….

@2 HitWonder They took the San Antonio Commanders AAF Football Team’s name, slogan and catch phrase. They said they spent two years picking a name to honor our rich history and legacy. They simply took the San Antonio Brand and slapped a W on it. That’s fine, but why did you spend two years pandering to us about legacy and tradition. If it’s about getting DC tax dollars for a stadium, just make the business move. Don’t lead the fans on for two years when your just going to recycle a football name and brand that already existed.
