I understand moving down after the top 2 corners went early but man moving down 20 when Hamilton is still there was tough.

    Isis Sabra

@Rob Ewhat do you think about salary reconstruction?

    Lawrence Daniels

    @Rob E I bet they’re
a couple of USFL dudes will get an invite
    to a few NFL camps

    DWitt_35

@Rob E I don’t find the competitive rebuild as a consistent route to building a contender, with that being said I think we were in a great position to take a step back, rejuvenate our roster with young and real talented players similar to how we did it after Favre. I think opportunities have been missed due to a mindset that was pushed into this hiring process by ownership. We’ll see but I think a path that we should have taken was skipped avoided. Also just looking at league history clearly the return on this trade was severely underwhelming. It is what it is.

    DWitt_35

@Rob E and the most highly regarded front office in the league took Hamilton 😂

    DWitt_35

@Rob E for future reference, constantly using the argument of authority gives off the impression that you’re unable to think for yourself. It takes about 3 minutes of research to understand that even the best gms of all time made mistakes and misguided decisions. There’s a lot of intelligent minds out there that view this trade as a loss for us.

Trevor Lee

Even casual fans understand you dont drop from 12 to 32 in the draft and not get another first . This was a complete panic move and not exactly a move I expect from someone that is supposed to be so intelligent . Kwesi you are BS the fans dude !

    Chris Plante

@Jimbo by not getting a 4th rounder whoopee. I’m fine with that. Cry some more

    A Jonesy

    @chrisplante
People aren’t crying, they’re just far smarter than you. This trade was an utter failure on the highest level.

    Arvie Weathers

    He weak and too nice

    Arvie Weathers

He so nice he gave up our 2nd rd pick why????? They moved up 20 spots Mr.sweets

ScewbaSteve

This was “one of the good options” I wonder what the other strategies were. Good pick but terrible trade

    Antonio Simpson

As a lions fan thank uuuuy

DerpCream Cone

Thanks for passing on a generational safety, giving a division team a top tier wide receiver, get not very much in return, then take a lesser safety than the generational safety. Just poor first first round 🤦

    Spindog

We got a Wall Street insider leading this team,…how do you think it’s gonna turn out???

Violet Valkyrie

I like Cine, and trading back was an option I was in on. But trading back 20 places and not getting a first next year, and allowing a division rival to move up to 12 and get a weapon like they did, is just ridiculous. Great trade for the Lions. Terrible trade for the Vikings.

    DWitt_35

@Mike O’Brien 😂 explain from any angle how it’s a good trade. Gave a division rival a stud, got horrible value return, and passed on the best safety prospect to come out since who knows when. Yea great trade

    Mike O'Brien

@Han Solo We got the 34th pick we still have a second.

    Han Solo

Mike O’Brien yes but we gave up 46,if we still got 46 id understand the trade but we lost it,Lions fleeced us.Let’s hope Kwesi corrects the mistake by taking Booth or Dean, other than that is a terrible draft

    Toxic Masculinity

@Mike O’Brien the Lions pretty much said, let’s swap 1st and 2nd rd picks and we’ll give you our 3rd. How is that a good trade??

    Joewebb14vikings

Wow 108 likes must be the whole Detroit fan base

Christian Bretschneider

Kyle Hamilton or Jordan Davis would have helped us and seeing other evaluators scoop them up immediately after was not fun.

Mikey Lewis

I don’t mind the pick and I don’t mind the trade back, I just think, we could of got more for the pick. Let’s hope Williams and Hamilton don’t end up being absolute ballers at the next level otherwise this trade is going to make us look very silly

    A Jonesy

    It already has. Kwesi FAILED.

    Danny Vang

I agree, we should have gotten to at keep both 2rd picks at least…Or gain extra picks next year. Kwesi got played.

    Lawrence Daniels

@A Jonesy we will still beat Detroit…..one fast receiver doesn’t mean the best…..I like our WR’s watch Amir Smith Marrsette 😎

Ivo Eenink

I just would like to know what would it have cost us if we didn’t trade down with the Lions but made our pick at 12, we draft Jameson Williams and then trade back up with Lions at #32 for Cine. Was that ever a thought? Because if you wanted Cine that badly late 1st round you could have made that happen, lot of teams where willing to trade. We didn’t have to give the Lions the opportunity to take the best receiver in this draft… I clearly understand why lot of teams don’t trade within their own division, this is a prime example

Matt Holmes

This was a terrible outcome and being completely too far in the forest to see the trees. Giving your division rival a top position player, losing draft value by some charts and passing on a likely better prospect at the position you picked is not a win no matter how he spins this. Fail.

Keith Oltmans

I will wait for the draft to be over before determining if we failed, but right now I am not following the line of thinking here. Dropping 20 spots in round 1 to move up 12 spots in round 2 and pick up another 3rd round pick does not seem of equal value. I hope things get better and as always, SKOL VIKINGS!

    Motivation Needed

There is no getting around it.. It was a dumb trade

ryo28mn

He must of found spielmans how to draft book and said this makes sense to get a bunch of lower round picks and see what works. That has worked very well

Paul Vang

We got played. We had all of the leverage to get anything we wanted from the Lions and we dropped 20 spots for a safety we could have picked up in later rounds. Scared GM.

B New

Giving a division rival the best WR in the draft on a silver platter and getting almost nothing in return. Great first draft night… for Lions fans.

    TheNextGreat#8

Cracking me up that folks are scared about giving a good WR to THE LIONS. They’ve had a QB on their roster for over 10 years and took all of one season away from Detroit for him to win a SB. That same QB also had a HOF WR for many of those years. Trade doesn’t look good on paper but I like to allow time to judge whether it was a good move or not before pressing the panic button. Regarding trading with a division rival, and by rival I just mean another team in the division, it’s the freaking LIONS 😂

    B New

@TheNextGreat#8 We got completely fleeced and embarrassed by the Detroilet Lions. Look at the Giants and Bears draft trade last year and tell me we got a good deal on our trade.

Michael Utley

So disappointed in this trade!!! He references house buying? WTF man, the NFL draft isnt short on inventory? Take your 12th pick and don’t make dumb trades down to someone in our own division. Cine was projected as an early 2nd rounder. We could have probably had Williams and Cine. Unbelievable!

Big Smith62

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the Detroit Lions new best friend!

adam halatek

Look at what the Bears gave the Giants last year to move up from 20 to 11 versus what the Lions gave the Vikings. Terrible trade by the Vikings this year.

Danny Vang

I like the trade back and pick, but we should have gotten more value for moving from 12th pick to the freaking last pick of the first round….We should of gotten extra picks next year, or at least get to keep both 2rd picks instead of just swapping them SMH.

Lions basically got Charmander and Kakuna. While we got Bulbasaur, Metapod and Weedle in the trade. Super effective…

    668771

We shouldn’t have given up 46 for 66, that was the killer. 12 for 32 and 34 is still tight for value. But adding 46 for 66 was just horrible.

Pao Vang

For the first time I like this trade down by Vikings new GM. Lewis Cine is great Safety that I would draft in the second round with the original though but gaining a third pick and trade up the second from Detroit was a very great result. I would use the second pick to draft, first though would be Andrew Booth or Boye Mafe.

James Foster

As a life long Viking fan, it is so embarrassing to read these comments from laptop GM’s. The only way to know this trade is a failure will be in years looking back in hindsight. Give this regime a damn chance, otherwise us Vikings fans will always sound like butt hurt fans who think they know more than the GM’s, coaches and players.
