kareem and jack back for ravens game will be huge.

    Kyle Vertoch

hearing Jacks name perked me up

    Edward Gaines

    God willing.

walker b

Well, you can’t play much worse. So there’s that…..

    Matt

Haha you never know, coach might “look at the tape” and surprise you lol. They definitely aren’t changing anything in the positive direction

    rrkunath

What a dumb comment. Of course we could play worse. We could be winless

    Matt

Yeah, we don’t want to set the bar to high…let’s go mediocrity!

    Mel

    Lol 😂

    Edward Gaines

Stefanski seems afraid to bench Baker.

LIL TY G

I blame alot on this coach but I forget this is his 2nd season as a head coach and we are 6-5 but we be playing alot better these players need to come together and play to their abilities but who am I….
Go DAWGS….✊

Vaarg Cavanagh

Tired of this guy saying we need to get better” stop saying it and do it.

    Stephen Harris

I was thinking the same exact thing.

    Mel

    Yeah he’s annoying

Lizze

We gotta blitz the hell outta Lamar next week.. they know that right ? And why is the defense keep going for the ball and not focused on tackling.. it’s awful and happens almost every play..

    Strawberry Jam

Yeah That’s Gregg Williams style defense

    The Chosen One

Blitzing Lamar isn’t a great choice.. Blitzing Baker is.. if/ when Lamar escapes.. then what hopefully he doesn’t find someone deep.. or scramble for big

J Farnsworth

“We need to play better as a group” 🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡

Same thing every week….still a dumpster fire!

DoorDash Hussleman

Same story after every game 🙄

Evan Crissinger

“Good plays down the field that we hit…”

I like Stefanski, a lot….but he’s in denial, or just bullcrapping the media bc THE OFFENSE SUCKS!!!!!!!

    Edward Gaines

He’s either in denial, too scared of Baker to bench him, or Kevin is secretly setting Baker up to fail so he can get his own QB.

Ken P

The question I would liked asked..
Coach, you have the best run blocking line in the league but they are average in pass blocking.
Add to that the best RB and leading the league in rushing as a team and a QB that needs play action to function ….
Why do you keep going empty backfield on passing downs, It’s like saying to the defense … “Come hit our injured QB”

    Stephen Harris

Empty backfield is a way of putting it in the defenses face that he has a whole bunch of tight ends in the game, and their average 4.85 40 yard dash is going to smoke their defense……for a 3-6 yard catch.

Wonder if stefanski got hit in the head and thinks he is in 1958 playing with an oblong football. Its possible.

    Bruno Perkovic

Some of hits on Baker while running empty is more on Baker not getting the ball out fast. Thats the whole idea behind it, spread the defense and let it go fast

    Nick Tisone

Great point! We are all wondering that about empty backfield set with injuried qb? What the hell is he thinking!

TBITV

I was out at the poignant question of “do you think you can win enough games…” Even Dan Campbell is saying yes to that softball. why do the browns local media always want to play the backup quarterback? it hasn’t worked thus far… Anderson, Holcomb, Hoyer, Campbell, Manziel +24 more, just let him play heck maybe he’ll be hurt further so you can all be vindicated! sadist.

I understand that the medical staff says Baker can play, but the real question is should Baker play. They won the Lions game despite Baker, not because of Baker. I just cannot believe their offense would have been less effective with Case Keenum.

They were effective against the Broncos with Case playing and no Chub nor Hunt. D’Ernest Johnson played well and the fact that the Browns running game was also fueled by terrific run blocking.

In 2020, Baker was great when he rolled out, especially left. When he rolls out this year I think oh no, this play is doomed. I am tired of hearing Baker is a “tough kid, he wants to be out there for his team”. This team is best with play action because they have a great running game and having an accurate passer also dooms most NFL defenses. Now, play action is not as effective because defenses do not worry so much about Baker’s accuracy and can key on the run.

One of the members of the press asked a great question: would Baker benefit from a couple weeks rest? If yes, then maybe we should rest Baker because if you look at the remaining schedule, it’s brutal. Better a healthy Baker for 4 games than a broken down Baker for 6 games. I think we should have rested Baker beginning with the Lions game through the bye week. That would have been 4 weeks rest and he would have missed two games. I think they would have beaten the Lions with Case. Yes, maybe you sacrifice the first game in Baltimore but he could have come back healthy in the home game against the Ravens after the bye. And he hopefully would be fresh for a wild card run in the final 4 games against the Raiders, Packers, Steelers and Bengals. Winning 3 of those 4 and a win in the second Ravens game would have yielded a record of 10-7, which should have given us us a wild card berth.

The team we thought we had during the summer was the opener against the Chiefs. They were great that day because they were all healthy. I’d hate to think that was their peak. Some great teams have turned the season around in mid season and had excellent playoff runs. That could be us.

P-Wee-Da-Gr8

Stefanski your offense has scored 17 or fewer points in 6 out of 11 games.. That’s enough of a sample size to say that your offense is not effective.

Frank McDonall

You are great coach Kevin Stefanski I am very diehard BROWNS fan you and coaching staff did a very good job coach Joe Woods needs to tightening up on the defense sometimes always wins 🏆 games

john boreman

Love baker and all you guys. I’ll be here no matter what!! How dare some of you boo a player who’s putting his body on the line to get us a win. The man who won us a playoff game in forever!! We got 6 games left he’s got time to show us what he’s capable of. Stay strong and healthy come out like a banshee against Baltimore!!!

TheMeatFactory

That title could of been from any week this season. Stefanski is afraid to take blame directly. He will rub against the topic for like 5-10 seconds, and that’s it. The bro got lucky last year. His play calling is extremely dull and simple. No defense in the league should be worried about anyone but Chubb

Ruth Mackey

For the second game in a row he lets up on the run at times and goes pass crazy. Johnson hasn’t shown anything but production. But still, as a run-first coach, having a banged-up QB, in the rain, against the Lions, after Johnson has good runs the previous drive, he goes 3 pass plays in a row and they go 3-and-out. He has done this several times the past two games. Mayfield should not even have played. He needed to rest up for big games we have coming up. No reason at all he should have been out there. Keenum and Chubb can’t beat the Lions? Keenum and Johnson beat the Broncos. Stefanski helped put us in the hole against the Patriots with his weird play calling. Look at the Patriots play calling. They mixed it up. Kept the defense uncomfortable. It’s like Stefanski had no plan. Except to feed it to a banged up Mayfield. As a reward for Johnson’s good runs. He also failed to challenge that bobbled non-catch by Hunter Henry.

    thefisherman007

    100% agreed

Mel

I’ll say this something needs to happen before it’s to late and our best players are out of their prime! We can’t keep wasting years man the window is closing

    Edward Gaines

Here’s the thing. Why is Stefanski so scared to bench Baker? Is Kevin calling the shots, or is Baker? If Gregg Williams was the coach, he’d tell Baker to F his feelings and sit down!

Scott Hall

“I will never do anything that is not in the best interest of the team.”
That’s a bunch of bull, Kevin. You should have taken Baker out in the 2nd half. Also, sit him down for at least one game.

MARK MONROE

The blame doesn’t rest solely on Baker. I honestly don’t think the
Browns thought they would be in the playoffs in 2020, but everything was
so off with C+ craziness that they shocked a lot of the world, which
included a LOT of Browns fans. What should’ve been a reasonable 3 season
growth plan was fast forwarded to a ridiculous amount of unmerited
Super Bowl hype. Stefanski was supposed to have some of those 2020 wins
and a few “moral victories” on the way to Year 2, but the unthinkable
happened. A run heavy offensive plan never got a chance to be going into
year 3 with some reasonable optimism. Instead, Defensive coordinators
didn’t need long to decode a West Coast offense that didn’t want to
marry a good run game with a better than average passing attack.
Stefanski will receive a strong “suggestion” to hire an Offensive
Coordinator. Joe Woods will most certainly be gone; there is better
depth in the secondary, but the weakness at the linebacker position has
not improved considerably this year. I still blame the Browns for not
drafting a player on the defensive line to free Myles Garrett up to be
the star that he deserves to be. It doesn’t matter how many retread or
bargain basement D-lineman this franchise signs, Myles Garrett gets the
double team and the defense suffers. Sorry, too long…Baker is hurt,
but he IS playing. It falls to Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski to
manage a quarterback that they “built the team around”, who had no
business playing against Detroit. Why would you not sit him to get
healthier for this Ravens Gauntlet that’s coming? Sadly a team that
should be looking toward 2022 has HUGE personnel and coaching problems
going forward. PLENTY of blame to go around, but Cleveland Media needs
to put this “Demise of Baker Mayfield” narrative to bed. Love the Browns
or hate them, they played their guts out in 2020. We all see the
injuries, we know there are some good players on this team. The tarring
and feathering crowd needs to take a breath and RELAX.
