I don’t understand why he doesn’t call quick passes or screens to get Baker going. The timeouts before halftime?

    Jacob.Infinte7

I think the timeouts might have been to keep the Texans players out there. The Texans looked demoralized at the end of the half and Duke Johnson looked hurt, forcing the Texans to stay out only makes it harder for them. Also it keeps them guessing why, just like us they can’t be certain why he called the timeouts.

    Liberty Outdoor Adventures

He called them because it forced them to snap the ball and run it 2 more times in wet sloppy weather. Anything can happen. 1 fumble and you’ve got a shot at some points before the half. Nothing to lose bu calling the timeouts

    Jacob.Infinte7

@Liberty Outdoor Adventures yeah that is also another thing I thought could be the reason

    Eric Harmon

@Liberty Outdoor Adventures exactly. You saw the snap we had on the first drive. It was smart.

MultiKushie

And people doubted Coach K

    2kcreeko 1

Best coach we had in years

    A W

He’s tied Freddie Kitchens for most wins in franchise history

    2kcreeko 1

@A W Freddie was horrible he didn’t know how to use chubb

    Wyatt Escue

    @A W
😂😂 I was thinking that today lol.

    D23

@A W coach k finally tied with the legend of the game

TJ110

Good game coach.

Sooners203

As ugly of a game it was more of a defensive game we won and are 6-3 the Browns have had a great season so far with more to accomplish and have a golden opportunity to make the post season

Robert Janko

Footbal is an outdoor sport. Love that!
Stefanski: “We just were in constant communication with him (Chubb) throughout the game” It was a one way commucation. I bet that Chubbs commucation in the whole game was not more than 10-15 words.

    don smith

chubb doesnt need to talk–his actions speak volumes

    Liam Fung

Coach: “Nick we need you to get a first down here”
    Chubb: “….ok”

    Robert Janko

    @Liam Fung exactly!

Edward Oorjitham

Great win coach! Love the emphasis on the run. Please give Baker more short rhythm throws. Great to have Hooper, Tretter and especially Chubb!
Game ball to Kareem for those brutal, crucial runs!
Go Browns!!

Sooners203

Chubbs decision not to score at the end was smart because we could run the game out vs having what happened to Atlanta happen to us

    Dylan Cheatham

Chubb did the right thing.. but coach also did mention here that the decision to play for clock time, rather than the points, was made prior to the play

    don smith

@Gabriel – Content Writer why even give them a chance for a miracle finish??? chubb did the right thing stepping out—it ended the game

    Mike Littoris

Yeah or have conflict/injuries to our defensive players. Imagine if something like that happened last year and we could’ve avoided the Rudolph debacle

    Gabriel - Content Writer

@don smith I didn’t say that it wasn’t right. But no team in NFL history has scored 10 pts in the final minute, starting with receiving a kickoff.

    Paul Nicholas

Think the only people annoyed with Nick were people who had a bet on it. Miracles do happen especially in that wind. A muffed kickoff catch could easily have happened if Texans had managed to sling it for a TD in less than 30 seconds.

As soon as he ran out the win was sealed.

    Chubb = Ultimate Team Player

LiveWireRed B.

Chubb is a game changer. Thank goodness he’s back.

Dave V

Kevin Stefanski is becoming a very good coach. Reminds me of a less emotional Marty Schottenheimer.

    Sooners203

He deserves it especially they way our season is going

    selig7

@Sooners203 I don’t agree right now. He has to beat the Steelers or Ravens and make the playoffs before he gets considered for that praise.

    Theresa DeLeon

LOL anybody is less emotional than Marty was. Dude sprayed spittle on more people than our beloved Jimmy Donovan! Love em all.

    Jon Simon

Dude, coach Stefanski is 180 degrees from coach Schottenheimer. Coach Stefanski is a “Millennial coach” he listen to his players, coach Schottenheimer was a “Boomer” if wanted your opinion he would give you the opinion you were suppose to have. LOL😁

Shaka Brewster

Shout Out To Wyatt Teller As Well As Nick And Kareem And Jarvis And Baker Being Healthier With The Benefit Of The Bye..
LET’S GO BROWNS!!!!

    Edward Gaines

Not so much for Jarvis. He got that boneheaded taunting penalty. No excuse for that. You can taunt all you want *AFTER* the game is over.

Dave V

I agree Jedrick Wills and Wyatt Teller are monsters on the line……………………..

    derd 420

Jed has his rookie false starts but you can see how frustrated he is with himself when that happens which shows the standard KS holds them to. Browns of years past would just throw their hands up with an apathetic attitude in situations like that.

Dave V

This the first time I remember the Browns coming out of our bye-week prepared for everything…………This is all due to Stefanski!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dean Bowditch

Can Mary Kay please retire !!!!

    Edward Gaines

    Mary Kay no bueno.

Chad Cullen

The play by Chubb could be a defining moment for the team for this season. Barring a major injury to a key starter, the team seems poised for a good run.

alloyrat

Great game coach! I’d like to see more of the fullback on those short yardage downs to clear out the LB in the gap. Andy did a great job when we did.

Dewitt McDidditt

I love the fact that the Browns finally won a game like this. The defense FINALLY stepped up and played well. This is the type of game you love to see this team win. Classic Smashmouth football, pound the rock, handle field position, and control the clock. Baker Mayfield didn’t turn the ball over, and overall there was a lot more patience. The old Baker under Kitchens probably would’ve panicked too early and would’ve committed mistakes and turnovers out of frustration.

This team put in work this week. That goal-line stand early on and the Browns offense consistency getting first downs, at least enough first downs to give their punter more space to flip the field, really set the tone for the game.

Charles Wallace

Looks Like We’re Going To Need A WR Like Claypool In The Draft

    Edward Gaines

    Why not Higgins?

Charles Wallace

Looks Like We’re Going To Need A Lot Of Work Going Into The Off Season Redoing Our Defense Period! Now We’re Really Going To See What Mr. GM Andrew Berry And His Staff Is Truly Made Of!!!

Justin Hoffee

No preseason and browns are 6-3 with this first year head coach. The Browns found their guy.

Captain Shadow

Cannot stress enough how great it is to have a coach who learns from past mistakes during the season and trends towards progress.
