As a browns fan and a non believer of the bills, I think McDermott deserves this more than stefanski. As a browns fan…when you think about everything stefanski had to overcome, you also to have realize that he had two things that the other coaches never had. Which was a talented roster and a stable front office. No other browns coach before stefanski had those two things at the same time to their disposal. I’ve never was sold on stefanski and still am not as browns fan. We have our coach for now but I’m not sure if he’s a super bowl coach. All the browns needed was a competent coach who wasn’t an idiot and they were going to succeed because they had such a talented roster. The bills roster is not a 15-4 roster on a talent standpoint. McDermott elevated decent players into a 15 win team. He deserves it more than stefanski this year. It’s great what stefanski has done, but McDermott…when you look with what him and stefanski had to deal with on their team from a pure talent level, he had a lot more of a disadvantage than stefanski did. Stefanski just had to overcome organizational dysfunction, but we can really say haslam for once wasnt an idiot and put all analytics people in play instead of trying to mix analytics and football people. So, once haslam hired people who were on the same page, it was more than likely going to work considering all the talent that was on the team. And let’s not even get started on stefanski getting outcoached bad in a few games. McDermott has never really got outcoached, he’s lost games because his team usually isn’t talented enough to really even compete with the team on the other side of the field. McDermott deserves this award more.

@ Lcmilky 2000….I think Flores is good. If the dolphins made the playoffs I would say he’d be coach of the year hands down. I think Flores is a better coach than stefanski and I’ma browns fan saying that. It’s hard to say he’s better than McDermott right now considering he’s hasn’t beaten McDermott in four games. But I like Flores a lot.

@Curiousity Man A talented roster doesn’t amount to a hill of beans, if you can’t win games. Ask Freddie Kitchens. And until Coach Stefanski’s hire, the Front Office/Coaching Staff was a constant source of distraction between Football Guys and Analytical Guys. Once all of it came together, it made for a much improved team on the field. Stefanski earned

@ET Phone Home so your saying our coach doesn’t deserve the coach of the year because he didn’t give Kareem hunt the ball in the first half. Our coach literally turned a team that was 1-15 and 0-16 and having so many bad seasons into a playoff team yeah I think he deserved the coach of the year

Please explain to me how Kareem hunt got zero touches in such a close game against his former team. How does someone win coach of the year and not get the ball, not a single touch to arguably our best player…was Kareem hurt?

@ET Phone Home you’re using one example as to why he shouldn’t have won the award when there are countless reasons as to why he absolutely earned this award. yes, hunt should’ve gotten the ball more, as with chubb. he simply got outcoached by one of the greatest nfl coaches in league history. if that is not a huge step in the right direction for this franchise then you should just pick another team to root for
