It’s a damned shame what Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner did to try to snake Cleveland football from Art Modell. Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner never had any real respect for the legacy of Cleveland Browns football and what that meant to the city of Cleveland. Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner thought they could force Art Modell to sell to Al Learner and then they would build the new yard for Al Learner. Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner would up sending Cleveland’s landmark sports franchise to Baltimore. Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner have been sliding all these 25 years as Art Modell was made the fall guy for simply trying to stay in business. The truth is Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner did everything they could to force Art Modell out of business. Art was just a lot smarter than they thought he was. The Cleveland Browns brand was almost destroyed by Al Learner and Paul Tagliabue’s expansion team. Jimmy and Dee have done a great job considering they had to learn on the fly and totally restructure the brand that is the Cleveland Browns. The Learner led expansion team turned the Cleveland Browns brand and the Cleveland Browns uniform itself into a national laughing stock. Mike White, George Voinovich, Paul Tagliabue, and Al Learner are four people who were directly responsible for turning Cleveland Browns football into euphemism for losing. Thank goodness the Haslems bought the team.
