What the league should be worried about is the fact that Andy Reid is notorious for only running vanilla plays during preseason…and our offense is *still* in mid-season, destroyer of dreams, form.

I liked the way the defense played. Joshua Williams is showing major potential. Already one of the best young LB cores in the NFL with Bolton and Gay, but the secondary has talent all over the place. Reid, Sneed, Fenton, Thornhill, McDuffie, Williams, and even Watson. They’re all great in coverage and great tacklers.
I know it’s just pre-season, but George Karlaftis was demanding a double-team nearly every snap he played. I feel like Chris Jones is going to have a career year playing alongside Karlaftis. Who do you double team?
I love all stages of the defense so far and I will take a quality defense over a single WR every single time.
If the defense ends up being really good this season, Brett Veach needs GM of the decade for fixing an o-line and a defense in 2 off-seasons.
My guy,,,,I agree with you all the way… the way I see,,by mid season,,,the defense will be dominant…I’m really feeling this will be an iconic season for the cheifs that will be a shock to the league…alot of people sleeping on dem guys,,,,ima sit back an smile all season long,,low key placing my bets…😎
@Eric The depth on the o-line worries me a bit. They have one of the best starting units in the entire league, but their backups have struggled so far.
But if everyone stays healthy, it’s going to be an amazing season.
You definitely still double Jones until Karlaftis proves that he’s a real problem that can take over games. That being said it looks like he’s got the potential to be a real problem for offenses.

I had to listen to this game on xm radio and some bone head play by play announcer from Washington radio kept saying STEVE Buechele instead of Shane, and towards to end of the game, he also stated that Washington has a chance to send this game to overtime. There is no more overtime in preseason. What a goober.

I mean A its preseason and the team is running a bunch of vanilla plays and B Washington actually has a good Dline. CEH wasnt the only one unable to get anything going on the ground game. Also CEH was partly drafted because of his receiving ability.

Let me tell you what the new Chiefs offense is… less explosive due to the loss of the league’s biggest Diva well reported by talking heads, what they haven’t reported is the new Chiefs offense is “RELENTLESS”. Feel free to quote me on that.
And as it turns out, looking back through NFL history, that’s how the dynasties of the past all worked. They weren’t explosive and flashy, they were relentless, consistent, and unstoppable. Steelers under Bradshaw, Montana’s Niners, Staubach’s Cowboys, Brady/Belichick, and now it appears to be Mahomes.
To be honest:
Losing Tyreek Hill is the best thing that could have happened to Mahomes, moving forward.
1. Defenses are not sure who the ball will be going to now.
2. It begins preparing Mahomes for life after Hill and Kelce by forcing him to get used to other players. Kelce is in his mid 30s and will eventually retire.

Chiefs defense is young beware of when they start to click it will be chiefs dominance.
Chiefs are good but they aren’t unstoppable. The bengals beat them in the afc game and the bengals were like worst team in the playoffs last year
Jody’s such a beast man. I’m so happy he picked right back up from last year. I was worried that injury would hinder him but he hasn’t missed a beat after being out.
