Kalon Barne’s hometown, Silsbee, Tx, is also my hometown. I’ve been living in Houston 30+ years but I keep up with hometown sports via the internet, cyber message boards, streaming. His dad Chris Barnes was a track legend back in the late 80s. We were all hoping Kalon would follow his dad’s footsteps, and we were not disappointed.. Kalon started and or played significant minutes on a back to back state championship basketball team. He once out jumped this 6’10” guy for the center jump. He is a pretty good all around athlete. I wish him good luck in the NFL.
