I think that the Giants SHOULD NOT have signed Golladay. They should have resigned Tomlinson instead. We drafted a WR #1 so why did we spend $40M on an injury prone WR? We could, and will need that money next year to resign some key FA. If Jones has a great year, where do we get the money to sign him for big money long term? The plan is, let him fail. What the Giants did is a smoke screen. Gettleman will say, “We got Jones all kinds of weapons and he still couldn’t produce.” In a way the upper management wants him to fail. This way they can draft a QB in round #1. It will be A LOT cheaper for the Giants. How else can they keep the FA’s they got this year? If your two biggest assets are your QB and RB, won’t you make sure that you have the very best people up front to protect and block for them? Hernandez wasn’t that great at LG, so lets move him to RG. Lemieux did OK run blocking, but he sucked at pass blocking. Lets make him the starting LG. Peart at RT. LOL It just keeps getting better. When asked Gettleman just explains -they will be better. I hope so, they can’t get much worse.

    @onlydots- Look at what we spent on Golladay. We could have addressed this in the draft and paid pennies on the dollar. I’ve said it before, WR Nico Collins is a beast. I would have targeted him in early 3rd. We could have signed more WR as UDFA. There were a lot of good WR’s that didn’t get drafted. In the next few years we’ll see that I’m right. When the Giants don’t have money to resign the really good players on their roster. I’m not saying that we didn’t need WR help or that Golladay isn’t an excellent WR. I’m just saying that we would have been better off not signing him, saving that money, and addressing the WR in the draft. Yes we got Toney. We needed an OG. We could have drafted real good WR later in the draft.

Dalvin Tomlinson should have tried for a higher signing bonus but a lower cap hit to stay with the team but best of luck to him. Expecting an uptick of sacks but more importantly that middle of the field where short passes for TE and RB should be less completions to improve team defense. If Sam Beal makes to the 53 then someone must not be evaluating the last few seasons especially with Adoree Jackson signing on and drafting Robinson and Williams
