Herbert played great but the Chargers can never hold a lead

    r e v c n g e

Its bc the coach punted on 4th and 1 again smh

    reindeer games

wen playing agenst TB12 the game os never over til its over

    Jason Wright

    @r e v c n g e That was a good call the defense got us the ball back.

    Taylor Rhodes

Coach wants Herbert to lose. He wants Taylor to be the QB. He’ll probably say “Taylor is 1-0 amd Herbert is 0-3. Taylor’s the better QB”

Ricardo Masvidal

Monster day until he threw the last interception, he looks good just made another mistake

    Drew Nayr

Brady threw a pick six, I’m not putting this loss on Herbs. I don’t like ints, but that was a tough situation for a rook. Don’t forget the chargers are down a lot of players, sad excuse but the injuries are ridiculous.

    Sports Bros

Kexin okay and? He still played great

    Garrett Wood

God awful game management caused that situation. If Lynn can hold a lead for more than 2 drives Herbert doesn’t need to drive the length of the field with 1 time out to throw a TD to tie every damn week. He makes mistakes, but every rookie is going to. You can’t really blame him for playing imperfectly. Coaching staff dropped the ball yet again.

    CaptainCat 15

As much as I don’t want to, I have to agree with you. His only INTs in each game have come at the WORST POSSIBLE TIME. That being said, I don’t think this was a bad read. I think that ball got away from him. There was a wide open receiver down field and I think that was just a bad throw.

On the other hand, the defense got tired again and allowed the bucs to walk all over them, keeping Herbert off the field just like they did to Brady. It’s just another tough L all around

    ramiram84

the great dan marino said: games are won in the 4th qtr.

Lowerzeke

Man has a big future

    Fernando Meza

About as big as his arm 💪

    Jack Baxton

    Future MVP

J Lee

Herbert is the LAC future and almost beat Brady and company too

    Kexin

Almost when? The Bucs were running through that defense like a dumpster truck through wet toilet paper. Brady was just airing up at will. They could score 50 points and still lose this game.

    reindeer games

    almost?😂

    sean c

    @Kexin
QBs don’t “beat” other QBs, so settle down there tiger. and i would say yes, LA almost beat TB. It took a giftwrapped LA fumble at the 9 yd line with seconds left in the half and then Brady playing out of his mind in the 2nd half to basically score a TD on all of their remaining possessions in the game in order for them to win by just 7pts. Yes, TB dominated the 2nd half. Also yes, LA almost won.

    Alex Caruso

Lol we didn’t have 10 starters lol buccaners fans can’t talk

DBZ 4life333

Sad dude doesnt have head coach that trust him smh

    Raymond J.

Maybe that’s why he’s doing so well

    Synalytics

    fire lynn

    Pill Cosby

    It’s because he’s white

RayRay Likes Football

Hopefully the Chargers dont do him like they did Rivers. He is clearly a future superstar in this league. I apologize on the behalf of the Herbert doubters

    Rodrigo Santos

@IHasPwndas They never put talent around him to win the Superbowl outside of 2006

    Jason Wright

@Rodrigo Santos we went to the AFC championship in 2007, the chargers put talent around Philip just not on the Offensive Line.

    Joffy Joffa

@RayRay Likes Football First you claim rivers didn’t have weapons early in his career now your claiming he didn’t have playoff success till late in his career? Hell you even talking about man?

    GrimAdventuresOfSJ

They gave rivers some of the greatest weapons in nfl history and a good o line in his prime

    Taylor Rhodes

George Abujaber Lynn is a terrible coach. He still wants Tyrod Taylor as his QB but Herbert is giving him every reason not to bring back Taylor as the starter.

Jobany Meneses

AIRBERT played great. Chargers turnovers made a difference. Thought this was the game Chargers finally beat Brady

    Chris Smith

    Right?

Goku Black

He looks like he’s doing the Randy Orton pose in the thumbnail

    Pat B

Or he looks like he’s throwing a football…

Kexin

I don’t care if they go 1-15. If the rookie is playing like this you gotta be outta your mind to sit him. This lost isn’t on him, the defense got absolutely torched in the 2nd half. They’ll lose anyway no matter what he does.

    NipTheBarber

@Drew Nayr exactly! Herbert wants to learn and do better each game…he has that thrive in him and I know he’ll do great things for this chargers organization

    iAmRicharddd

this comment hittin different i felt that

    Micah Johnson Boxing

@Kexin There can become a culture of losing.

    Micah Johnson Boxing

@Drew Nayr I think it’s more common than you think.

    Chem Student

Head coach has to go, OC has to go, chargers medical and conditioning staff has gotta go. Then they will start winning games.

bruce lau

Chargers found their QB of the future

Fitness Guru

Coach Lin: “He’s the BackUp quarterback for a reason!”
NFL Fans: Um…what’s the reason???

    Johnny Cakes

@Taylor Rhodes I watched all the games. In all the games that Herbert started, I saw him make some good plays.I also saw him making multiple turnovers at pivotal points that cost our team the game. All three starts that happened.

maybe it’s you that need to watch it again. This time remove the rose covered glasses.

    A. T.

Lynn made that statement because he knew his staff punctured Tyrods lung and felt bad about. It’s their fault he was sidelined, and he was being a good coach by having his players back.

    Johnny Cakes

@A. T. AND he knew Herbert is not yet a winning NFL QB.. he’s not ready. His record is now 0-3 . #thatpart

    DAGO boy

    @Johnny Cakes troll

    Shawn McMahon

Grant Wiler it was Herbert’s fault on the fumble this week. He didn’t put it in the pocket. But really it’s Lynn’s fault for not taking a knee and the lead into halftime. Rookie QB and rookie RB with almost no time left on the clock. Stupid decision.

Blaise

He can SLING that thing. The Chargers coaching staff needs to let him loose.

    Johnny Cakes

@Joe Alvarado you are correct. It is a team sport. And we need the starter back so we can start WINNING GAMES AS A TEAM AGAIN. You know. Like in game one…

    Johnny Cakes

@Joe Alvarado oh. And it was in fact the defense that gave the chargers the chance to win every game. Even yesterday against the bucs when they struggled to stop the goat… They still got a stop at the end to give Hebert a final drive. He failed. The team lost because of a turnover. Both turnovers he caused cost us that game. And that bad handoff not only changed the gsme.. it caused ekeler his health.. All our losses were a result of his turnovers. These are facts…

So we need the starter who beat him out in preseason to come back so we can win these very winnable games. But you rather moral victories I guess.

    Joe Alvarado

@Johnny Cakes TT beat a terrible Bangals team going 16 for 30 209 yards. Taylor had weeks to prepare for that first start and you are ok with that performance? Sorry but even with TT starting the Chargers would be 1-3 with no hope for the future. Obviously we see things different and we will not agree on this and I am good with that. I appreciate the conversation and your passion. At the end of the day we want the Chargers to win.

    Johnny Cakes

@Joe Alvarado that would be cool except the Bengals are actually pretty good. They tied the eagles.. and just beat the jaguars. They also almost beat a much improved browns team.. Unlike L-bert Burrow is legit.. rookie of the year for sure…

Like I said. We need the STARTER for the chargers back so we can start WINNING. again.

    Johnny Cakes

@Joe Alvarado we clearly don’t want the same things at all. Because there has only been one QB who has won for the chargers. And it ain’t Herbert. These are just facts

Chuefing Yang

The most ready rookie QB

Brian Keith Mason

Prior to the Chargers drafting Justin Herbert, many (so-called) Charger fans weren’t shy about dogging this kid’s potential. The Oregon Duck faithful desperately tried to convey…”Give this kid a chance….he’s a great athlete, a lifelong Charger fan, and he has a long history of deferring personal shine in favor of hanging with his peeps” (opted to spend summers playing baseball with his boys as-opposed to improving his (football) recruit rankings through the camp circuit; declined an (alleged) top 3 draft designation to help our Ducks in their quest to redeem the brand). Truly a salt-of-the earth young man (like Marcus Mariota). The vitriol some people wrote was reprehensible and looks pretty foolish now. In the future….don’t confuse your passion for an enlightened ability to prognosticate based solely on highlights. The external is never a full picture of a players constitution. Congratulations to Charger fans (and the organization) for giving this kid an honest chance – you have a real stud to build around. Go Ducks (and Chargers)!

OperationEndGame

Coming from a Bucs fan, Herbert lit up that secondary…. He’s going to do very well with LAC…

jrad410

He’s gone down to the wire with Mahomes and Brady

    Salvatore Perez

He beat Mahomes and Bridgewater but the refs disagreed

Jack Baxton

Who’s better

Like for Herbert

Comment for Burrow

    Devonta Draper

@Alexander Flicker Why are you talking like I’m not a bengals fan of course I know all of that.

    ramiram84

CONSIDERING HERBERT didnt have the first team reps & training this offseason like TYROD did, HERBERT is EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE. BURROW had all the training and off season with the 1s.

    Boost GRFX

Burrow safer, Hebert been driving the ball downfield, throwing into tight windows. Burrow been throwing short to open receivers and letting them run. Need to see Joe make more NFL throws to make me sold on him, Herbert been making them with pressure in his face too

    Tim

Burrow but herbert looks damn good

    Kexin

Herbert has thrown some pretty bad rookie picks though but that arm can reach any window. All he needs is maturation.

Andre Billups

The Mahomes comparisons might of been right. Dude got that Josh Allen arm

Pat B

He’s actually a beast. I’m impressed I was not a huge fan of him coming out of college

    SWAGGER573

Because Oregon had a terrible offensive coordinator in a terrible pistol offense. That didn’t allow Herbert to throw down field.

    El guapo del feugo

I feel the same exact way. I was pissed when they drafted him. I should of known it’s in telesco we trust

    Ricky Quattlebaum Jr

I only knew he was good cuz ima Oregon fan. He was always underrated

    RalphSimmz

Cristobal had probably the worst offense for his skill set . Very conservative passing purely out of pistol . He is a downfield play action passer . He is better on longer throws than short . I just didn’t think he could break the habits he had at Oregon, but it’s showing that they really really held him back for some reason

SuperOmnicron

good to have the next generation, Mahomes, jackson, Herbert, Burrow take the torch fron Brees, Brady and Rivers… future of league is in for good exciting action !!!
