Herbert is a future MVP. He’s got the talent. Just give it time. Let the team heal, it might not be this year, but he just needs protection and the DEF to be back to how the defense was when we were 12-4 a couple years ago. Love this team. Always will.

the coaches don’t know how to manage the game and the clock… how many fuckups before the half? Take a knee at the half last game and we win. Give up a TD before the half this time. Conservative play calling killing us as well. The more I look at Lynn the more I think he needs to go.
but Badgley really fucked things up too… and I love the guy but really, a PAT and a game winning kick? Chargers always get screwed by their kickers.
I don’t see why everyone is saying defense is the problem. We are allowing 25pts per game which is right in the middle of the league even though plenty of our defensive starters are out. Against the Bucs was the only time you could really fault our defense.
The problem is Lynn going extra conservative on offense when we have a lead. He runs the ball instead of passes. When the Chargers have had a lead of 9-16 points, Herbert has only attempted 9 passes. In general, he doesn’t know how to coach in the second half. On average we score 5.4pts in the 1st quarter (17th) and 8.8pts in the 2nd quarter (11th), but after halftime, it’s 2.6pts in the 3rd (28th) and 5.2pts in the 4th (31st).
If our offensive production in the second half was at least on par with the first half, the Chargers would have beaten the Chiefs and the Saints, and we’d be 3-2. This would also take care of the times our defense has struggled in the 2nd half. If our offense stays out for longer, and actually strings together some plays, that gives time for our defense to recover and play better in general.

Starfall 21 guyton has been balling. Keenan looked like a top 5 receiver with him, and Williams coming back has looked great. These guys are playing great, the o line on the other hand with all the injuries and what he’s been able to do with a bottom 3 o line is crazy.
All I want for Christmas 🎄 is a decent offensive line, maybe new coaching staff and some senzu beans for our injuries for sure

I’m a bills fan yet I admire Herbert so much. His confidence and his ability is so good considering he is a rookie going up against hall of famers. I feel so sorry for him considering he played his heart out in all of the games he has started. The play calling in the second half is really bad. The chargers need to stop blowing very winnable games. Despite the 1-4 record, this team is very capable and they have a lot of heart. I look forward to what this young man and organization do in the future.

I’m sick of these close losses. I think that we definitely need to consider new coaching. Lynn is a great person and seems to be better than Mike McCoy but that just isn’t going to win for us. You are so right about the play-calling. Every game the recipe has been: Strong opening drive, another star player gets hurt, amazing defense. Second half is prevent defense, bad offensive plays, and losing at the last second possible by a score or less. They say lightning doesn’t strike twice but I see the same tragic bolt every week.
Oh yeah and congrats to the Bills. Even though you guys made playoffs two out of the past three years, I had you guys as a team that people were sleeping on way too much and the acquisition of Diggs went under the radar as far as national coverage goes. Take the division this year!
@Fresh Hawaii Thank you for our reply, I really appreciate it. I am looking forward to a really good bills season this year :). I do agree with you on the chargers coaching. The team is clearly capable despite the injuries. Whether it’s HC Lynn or the Offensive Coordinator, someone needs to go.
We’re learning that Herbert can’t get any help. 4 TDs, what else do you want out of a rookie? The trash O-line and that garbage 2nd half defense need to step up.

Chargers have to fire either Anthony Lynn or Gus Bradley. We need a change going into the bye week. 1-4 is not acceptable I don’t wanna hear Excuses about injuries the best teams find away to win no matter what it’s called the next man up. Plus every game this season we could have won even with injuries we just find a way to choke everytime. Stop showing favoritism and fire Lynn or Bradley because whatever we’re doing isn’t working.

We all know we have a very stong team on our hands, that will only keep getting better. With all of our injured players on the field again and a more experienced QB, Herbert will get us very far.. if not this year then next year for sure.
I keep seeing people calling for a coaching change due to Lynn’s tendency to let up in the second half, and I gotta agree. That doesn’t change. I’ve been an Oregon fan all my life, and we never became a dominant force until we kicked our coaches that went conservative in the second half. I like Lynn’s spirit, but cmon man
i beleive we have enough pieces to win a super bowl in the next year or so, since we already got a franchise caliber qb n players will be back healthy from injuries i believe this years draft we are going to focus on o line and a good FB its the final pieces for us to be superbowl contenders we should be excited for the near future.(also depending on how bad or good our coaching staff is this szn, if they cant learn from mistakes they gotta go) (health/training STAFF HAS TO GO)
