@Josh Allen the GOAT Honestly I think even last year people overblew how he played. He looked decent bc his rookie year was so bad, he looked like a QB from the 30s sent to 2018. But he still had a pretty bad year last year, only salvaged by his vastly improved TD-INT ratio (which still wasn’t anything special). That’s what made me think he was just gonna be a truly inexplicable bust – it wasnt just that he got picked high and turned out bad, it was that he didnt even look particularly good in college in the first place, and so picking him that high made no sense anyway, especially given the outrage Giants fans had about Daniel Jones being picked so high, when even he looked better as a prospect than Allen, who really only seemed to have middling athleticism, good size, and a big arm as his sole pros.

@Joe Dorben except he didnt look totally hopeless. If you paid attention to his character, work ethic and the growth he was making game to game. If you paid attention to the details and not just the shallow stats you could’ve seen he was a guy worth continuing to have faith in. Even before this year he had top 10 situational stats: 3rd downs, red zone, and fourth quarter/game-winning drives.

@Cpatel217 He did look totally hopeless lmao a lot of guys have great character, but he was extremely inaccurate and took a lot of bad decisions. People complained ab the amount of drops his receivers had but he threw several passes that shouldve/couldve been picked off but werent, he seemed to get just as lucky as he did unlucky with drops. As fans, we can’t “pay attention” to players’ work ethic, bc we don’t see how they are on a daily basis. We can only assume or base how good we think their worth ethic is off of what their peers and people around them say. He was still playing plain bad football his rookie and sophomore years overall, even if he had stretches of improvement or decent games, he didn’t have many outstanding performances *passing* until this year. I watched his tape, he was mechanically paltry, absurdly inaccurate, even at the Combine and Pro Day, and especially so in college, he was a bad decision maker too. That’s what’s so astounding about his improvement this year. It legitimately just about came out of nowhere.

@Joe Dorben We were carried by the defense a bit last season, but Allen did look really solid towards the end of the year. But this season he’s been balling out on a whole new level.
