Jordan Poyer: “That’s Why We Play the Game” | Buffalo Bills

Bills Safety Jordan Poyer addresses the media following the Bills 24-10 win over the New England Patriots on Thursday, December 1st. Topics include: what he saw on his interception that was overturned, how important the depth is along with Bills defensive line, how significant it is to win a divisional game on the road, and the mentality of the team as they’ve played three straight road games during a hectic stretch for the team.

Please pay this man I rly don’t want to see him on another team besides Bills

    Mike

Thats what people used to say right before i moved to Buf from Sea about Russ. Trust your coaches, the dude is old. If they know something you dont know *cough russ* you just gotta trust. That being said dude is a dog and i love him, but you dont pay aging over 30 unless its someone real special, like Von. And Von, was more about what hes doing for people like Greg R, sure hes a beast, but the money was for his brain and work ethic.

Paul Deck

That was def a pick, Colonel Poyer. The bobble was whatever cuz you had possession with two feet in and anything which happens after that doesn’t matter cuz you’re obviously out of bounds, and like you said it never touched the ground despite all that. But whatever. Great game! Stacking up Big Dubz 💪 Go Bills 🤘

    Johnathon Hoste

@Mike “survive the ground” has not been an official rule since the catch rules change between the 2017-2018 seasons.

    Mike

@Johnathon Hoste “Worth examining the catch rule again. It takes three elements to complete a catch, and it has to go in order: A-B-C.

The NFL determined Hunter Henry went C-A-B last week, and that Jordan Poyer lost control after A-B, and didn’t regain control until out of bounds”

surviving the ground has been replaced with “football move” but its just being used synonymously. In the future i will call it a football move to make sure im 100%

    Paul Deck

@Mike it didn’t touch the ground. And regardless it doesn’t change that if that was an offensive player catching the rock, that would have been a completion

    Mike

@Paul Deck i quoted the NFL response, dont argue with me, moan to them. But for the record, they call it this way every single weekend. If the ball bobbles they say that “C” was not full filled as the “Football move” that they count that as. So no, just like you see each weekend, that is not an offensive catch either. Per the rules. Do i think the rules make sense. No i do not.

    Mike

@Paul Deck now you may say to youself under article 3 (c) he tucked it, you would be correct, but if the ball wobbles, you need to get (c) again

Strange Carpenter

Brandon Beane will be absolutely crazy, nuts, illeterate as a GM to not sign Poyer back….He is a cornerstone

    Diane Bores

Poyer is an awesome and they better not let him go any other team. He belongs on The Bill’s team!!

    SixSpeedHero

I love poyer and wish to keep him. However, it’s more important to keep our young MLB. Draft OL in 1st round and safety 2nd round next year.

    Frosty

@Leotas yeah thats exactly my point. Yall had 2 30 + year old safeties out there what do you expect?

    Leotas

@Frosty 2 of the best safeties in the league. It’s not just on them

    Frosty

@Leotas it is on them when they get burned by fast receivers. Poyer probably runs a 4.7 at this point lmao. And hyde was good but not the best in the league, he’s outside the top 5 free safeties.

Juanda Deshauteurs

Jordan I have admired you and your playing ability but more importantly I admire that you have overcome personal problems, some medical difficulties and you have a beautiful daughter and a beautiful wife. The touchdown that was ruled incomplete/outside/you didn’t have control of/whatever – I totally disagree with. I have been constantly complaining about the poor officials and the calls they make, calls they make that are wrong, calls they make they actually didn’t have eyes on to see and they were exercising their personal bias and calls they should have been made like that one where Josh Allen was purposely run into and knocked to the ground after throwing the ball (totally ignored) and the call where a Bills player (I will have to watch the replay to know his name, was disqualified for what I don’t know but I am guessing on this – in college football it is know as targeting – but the problem this is the only time this years such a penalty has been called – why against the Bills – the Bills player did not target but again that was a poor official call that could not be reviewed and it was based on the eyes of one official and not the other officials. As a member of You Tube, I am trying to get a petition together to present to the NFL that they take control and oversight of all officials because while some may be good most are very poor and lack good judgement and understanding of the rules. You caught the ball two feet down on the playing field and the ball in your control – the official said you didn’t have control – my feeling and judgement was that official was totally wrong and an example of a poor official. If you didn’t have control of the ball out side the playing field which he based his “judgement” on did not matter – you caught the ball on the playing field touched both feet down on the playing field with the ball in you arms – that is a fair and proper catch – unfortunately calls like that are not subject to review or even discussed with other officials whether or not that was a proper call – my opinion – they would have said it was a fair catch. The game is over, the official mistakes have been made and will remain, bad officials will remain – Jordan you are a damn good player and you deserved better – I would like to have seen coach throw the red flag and protest but I don’t believe it was a play he could protest. Never the less Jordon I watched your documentary with your father and I have gained enormous respect for you – you have overcome a very difficult addiction to overcome but you did it and I salute you. Go Bills, Go Jordan.

    JesicaLynn

Where is the Documentary you speak of? I would really love to watch it! Have a Good day! GO BILLS!!💙❤💙❤💫💫💪

    RH H

@JesicaLynn The Jordon Poyer documentary is on You Tube as I indicated and is Titled “Jordon Poyer – The Kid From Astoria” and is a full length documentary on Jordon – you will enjoy. And something special happened today Miami lost and Kansas City lost meaning the Bills are the number one team in the AFC – now they have to play their remaining games like the winners they are. Enjoy watching Jordon.
