@cryptolicious if I was HC hurts would have the remainder of the season to prove himself and if he plays poorly than it’s a QB competition next year. But still most QBs need to develop over 3 seasons. I have more of an issue with the coaching than hurts. Lack of running the ball and bad offensive scheming and gannons defense.

@The MadBrow if i was HC i would play the amazing 4 to 1 pass td to int ratio qb minshew and be super happy to have him. id convert hurts to rb gadget qb and trade him somewhere as soon as anyone thought he could be a good passer. noone does. if anyone does then we can get a 1st r 2nd for hurts 😉

@cryptolicious minshew will get his shot depending how the season ends. Hurts deserves the full year of evaluation. That’s what I wanted to see this past off season Wentz/ Hurts for starting role. Since Wentz left Hurts needs to be fully evaluated regardless if ppl believe in him or not. I want to see him 1 more year with sirriani. Since both are basically rookies. If we were 9-4 this wouldn’t even be a discussion. Could have easily been done if we ran the ball first half of the season. We don’t need a franchise we just need someone to move the chain. Nick Foles is not an elite QB.

@J.J. Upright also Dk metcalf broke his neck 6 months before the draft nobody was taking a chance on him. He also has 720 yards this year and devonta smith has 701. Folks don’t understand once you stand out defenses will scheme to take you out the game.

Yea right.. shawrtz had a lot less.. and had a million injuries..and he didnt give up 300 yards and 90 percent completion to every good qb. Jg is a good dline.. good corners.. not great but definitely above average.. amd a decent grouo of safeties.. linebackkng core is the only part thats not good.. and taylor was playing very well.

That’s fair. We have 1 elite level player this season in slay on defense rn. So it’s a bit unfair to truly evaluate JG with so many weak points (LB, S, DE not named Sweat). Unfortunately Miami keeps winning so we likely won’t get a blue chip guy like Hamilton or Stingly

@Josh thats just insanity. He has more than enough to call better games.. is it that difficult to bring pressure and not play 10 yards off coverage.. and zone defense 90 percent of the time?

@Life is for the Living 20 I’m not saying he’s been perfect. I don’t love the different approach in terms of aggressiveness he’s shown with good qbs vs bad ones. I think his passive nature vs the Chargers costed us that game or at least a chance to win it, but overall you can’t deny he’s shown signs of being a good DC.

We don’t have enough to be a consistent defense rn. Qbs will continue to target the LBs and Nelson (who hasn’t been terrible but you get what you pay for) until we can make real improvements there. I think if you added just 1 game changing player either at S, CB or LB, this would be a top 10 defense.

@Josh no defense has everything. Except maybe the rams.. he can do a lot better with what he has if he played more man coverage and got a little more aggresive.. also. Just calling blitzes isnt the answer..what makes a dc good is knowing when to call what plays.. its not..ohh you blitzed 9 times.. its what blitz was it.. what down and istance did you call it.. sitting back in cover 2 all game.. when youre gwtting carved up..doesnt make sense.. thats what i can never defend.. if you throw the kitchen sink at the opposing offesnse and nothing works.. no one can realistically blame you. But failing to adjust in game.. is mind numbing.

@Life is for the Living 20 you’re absolutely correct. i haven’t loved his play calling and his lack of aggressiveness. i just want to evaluate him with a year of DC experience under his belt. there are positives, in 2021 JG has allowed a lower QB rating, YPA, Pass Yards Per Game, Avg Rush Yards, Rush Yards Per Game, and less points than Schwartz last year. i think the criticism has been a bit heavy by most of the fan base(he does make late adjustments tho, that infuriates me)
