@Ryan R He was not an awful GM by any stretch of the imagination. He engineered the greatest offense of all time, turned that team into one of the greatest defenses of all time in 2 years, and changed his entire draft philosophy 3 years ago-he absolutely killed it these past 3 years even if you want to ignore everything he’s done for the team these past 30+ years.
@Ryan R I agree. He has dropped the ball at the QB position really bad. He actually had Russell Wilson scheduled to come in when he was drafted and it fell though. He missed on Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Dak Prescott to name a few. Those are huge misses. He was great at drafting defensive players and pretty good at bringing on free agents. His time as GM is a mixed bag.
Terrible GM? You obviously know nothing about alot. John Elway was the most successful GM in his 1st 6 years then any other GM EVER!
Yeah the last 4 years have sucked. But he’s been dominating the draft the last 3.
And guess what bud, He did find us a franchise QB. His name is Drew Lock!

Nah bro he’s finally putting his ego to the side . He knows he’s holding this team back . The new gm will report to elway of course but they will have more say on the roster than him
New GM is going to be a puppet. If Elway was concerned that he wasn’t helping the team, he’d resign. This ain’t gonna change much.
@Daniel star holding the team back? He has hit on every drsft position besides the hardest. Qb. And we continue to churn out undrafted talent and random FA additions. He has done great except at qb (and coaching staffs, shoulda gotten Kyle shanahan). But lock could be it.

@YUNGPLUG 223 drew lock is elways QB, now that elway is gone it only makes sense that lock will follow. Also say goodbye to von miller, say goodbye to Philip Lindsay

Good luck John… This team is very close to elite. You’ve done great job last few drafts.
I love John. But I think he struggles with spotting talent, both at the player level and the coaching level. If he can get us the right GM, we can get back to relevance.

I disagree. Last few drafts have been really good. Spotted guys like Simmons, Lindsay, Sutton who all weren’t first round picks but have become all star guys. Shurmur WAS a proven coordinator and a SB winner before he came to Denver, and Fangio was one of the best defensive minds. Just didn’t work out year 1.
Spotting talent? Have you seen his last 3 drafts? He’s hit home runs
