I don’t see their WR out running our DB’s huge upgrade from last season. Plus Ben isn’t mobile like before. If they can’t stop Saquon we are winning this game.

    Iceman3000

John I think the first 4 words of your reply, apply to this comment.

    Mason Kretiv

I think it could go either way. Our Db’s are still pretty young (accept for the new hires). Blake Martinez is more of a run stuffer than a pass coverage Lb (but still pretty good). Our D-line is pretty good good against the run, but is terrible in the pass rush. We have upgraded altogether on defense, but I don’t know how much of an upgrade it is.

In regards to offense, I think DJ has breakout potential, but he’s just a sophomore QB that needs to prove that he’s improved in my books. We have decent receiving threats. Our O-line has quite a few new additions and people switching around. They have improved, but I don’t know to what extent. Saquon will always be Saquon, but I don’t want him to carry the team again. He won’t be able to handle it health wise as history has shown.

Altogether, this team no doubt has improved, but we don’t know the extent of that improvement, especially with a rookie head coach. This team absolutely has breakout potential, but from what I’ve seen, it’s a bit of a long shot to the playoffs.

With the steelers, Ben is still a massive approvement over the previous rotation of Qbs, even if his throwing arm is effective. He may not be in his prime anymore, but he is still a solid QB. This team can def go to the playoffs if they went 8-8 without him. James Connor is good when he isn’t carrying the offense. If you give him too much volume, he won’t be as effective.

Finally, the Steelers have arguably one of the best defenses in the league in all aspects. They have a lethal pass rush, elite run stuffing ability, and an impressive secondary. I know doubt give this game to the steelers, but it will be closer than some people think. The steelers are the better team right now, but the giants will prove that they can at least keep up (which would be better than last year)

    Dwayne Anthony

@SquishyWaffles 69 clearly you haven’t really looked at any of those guys 2019 stats. James Conner didn’t do jack in the 10 games he did play. Johnson and Washington had an average year, and Ebron is in a new system so don’t expect him to just ball out like he did in Indy. Yes Pitt has a great defense but that offense is still a .500 offense. Our offense outscored Pittsburgh by a long shot in 2019 with a halfass o-line.

    saquads barkley

@John ok u definitely sound delusional
Barkley may have a 150+ yard game but that’s not gonna contribute to us beating the steelers
It’s gonna take more than that to win especially against a quality like the steelers

    John

@saquads barkley Not delusional its okay hater when you control the clock you win the game doesnt seem like you know what your talking about when it comes to football…JUJU isn’t a threat neither are any other WR’s on their team how are they going to score otherwise? you think connor is going to drill down our rush def which was the only thing on defense that has been consistent? get real dude

NU SOUND ENT. ,

If this staff is big on adjustments at half, we’ll be ok

    J C

Yeah, that’s always a solid sign of good coaching. Doesn’t mean they’re successful all the time, but can’t be a running pattern.

    Rich Robinson

It would be nice; I had not seen from our GMen in years.,,

You really can’t say enough about Judges knowledge of the game as a whole. I’ve watched a lot of pressers and I’ve never heard a head coach name drop the punter as a big offseason addition. I think it just shows how invested this guy is in becoming a great coach and in establishing a winning culture. Seems like every game a Super Bowl to him. First time I’m excited going into a season in a long time.

Brendan Bassett

Man everytime this guy talks he grabs my attention i remember listening to shurmer last year and it just felt like he didn’t care. Coach judge definitely cares.

the fighting Joe Judges!!!

Malcolm Harrison

Are you going be calling plays?

Really? That’s a question? He been said he wasn’t. He been said he hired Garrett to run the offense and call plays. He hired Graham for the defense. Do they even listen at these press conferences?

It’s the one thing I like about him. He knows his role and his limitations. No head coach should call plays. That’s why you have coordinators they build the game plan. They know what plays work.

I didn’t like Shurmur or McAdoo calling plays. I love when Coughlin let Kevin Gilbride call plays. It won us 2 Super Bowls.

    Jason

Yup. These guy really ask the same repetitive and sometimes irrelevant questions.

Joe judge is exactly who this team needed ….if carter has truly developed into a player whobcam beat #1 tackles then we will make the playoffs

I liken Joe Judge to Mike Tomlin in several ways. Coach Tomlin has an impressive resume, years under his belt, and is a Super Bowl winning head coach. He is passionate, smart, direct, no nonsense and a good communicator.

Judge is a rookie head coach and still has to learn and gain experience in difficult New York. Like Tomlin he was a relative unknown. The Judge hire raised eyebrows and was a shocker. He has already faces criticisms for being “old school” in the modern era. He has practiced what he has preached since day 1. Judge has stressed fundamentals, teaching and attention to detail. We have seen all of those things thus far. You can feel and see the energy. He has acted like he belongs and has prepared for this. He seems ready for it and you can tell he has been working his tail off for this opportunity and he is running with it. He has a lot of the traits Coach Tomlin has like being direct and a good communicator.

Again Judge is a rookie Head Coach. He has a lot of head coaching to do and experience to gain. Luckily he has assembled a great staff who have experience and success. He has a staff he can lean on when times are tough. There will be some bumps on the road but I believe Gettleman has revamped the roster well and brought in a good mix of young talent and experienced veterans. Seems we finally have the right head coach and staff and this team has a foundation for sustained success for a long time. Go Giants!

FarmacyPhlaverd

That comment about letting the D and O coaches do what they do, and coach Judge will take a back seat to play calling puts a huge smile on my face. No ambiguity on this coaching staff 🙌.
