Jim Schwartz Introductory Press Conference – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Peace Maker

Man I loved everything he said , we need this kind of knowledge and just pure emotion inside that lockeroom, he seems like a head coach to me more then a coordinator honestly

    Designs in Orbit

@hasawho Kitchens was a head coach before Cle?

    hasawho

    @Designs in Orbit no?

    Domenick Cuccherini

@hasawho kitchens was an unknown who happened to be in the right place, at the right time…

Very different from what Jim Schwartz has done.

    Keevin Lee

Yes exactly! He is potentially more than just a great DC. I’m getting Head Coach backup plan vibes.

Meghan Howell

Seems like a great hire. Hopefully will translate to the field

Andrew Lykins

Let’s hope that his experience will elevate Kevin’s coaching. I’m really liking this hire!! Go Browns!!!

    Eddie George

@Ctwn 216 seriously and be honest lot of problems is personal r knickel bks and interior line r trash huge mistake on that front we literally let 2 dawgs we could got for a discount spilt know maken big $ actually was a bargain considering

    Eddie George

@Paa Hawkins u sound stupid dude kev took em playoffs and beat the fkn breaks off Pittsburg and got blantly robbed against chiefs that was our yr I’d call that extremely impressive hardly average not mention he had deal with the becham backer soup opera ok it was distracting as hell not mention we almost made playoffs on a accident last year with super banged up team down 3rd qb rb I’d call that impressive all thangs considered u being harsh addy Reid made alot bad calls early in his career now hes a genius kevs still fairly young in his career but this guys a oldschool play his position kinda guy like a mentor grampal probably good for bios advice I could see him rubbing off in a good way

Stop N Watch Entertainment JDT Films Limited

@Paa Hawkins dude its not the coach.. its the players giving up plays threw out the game. The players even said that they failed there coaches 🤦

    Jim Harris

@Paa Hawkins You said a mouth full brother!

D N

Great hire! His resume speaks for itself! I hope Browns defense is going to improve next season (well, it can’t get any worse. LOL!) and become top 5 defense in the league!!! GO BROWNS!!!

ThEjOkEr

All I have to say is Welcome Back To Cleveland Jim Schwartz. I think your gonna bring a better change to this team and bring maybe a player or two who worked under you. Who can help with the defense. Good Luck. Cleveland Browns For Life

Drewferd 27

The reminiscing he’s going through is going to be the X factor for this team. He loves this organization and city and that’s going to translate on the field with the players. Buckle up Browns fans

    J P

I feel like he sat down and picked up the fan base and sat them on his lap.

    Alsquatch

    god I sure hope so.

    Martin_Speaks

This man sounds like he loves the Browns. In a real personal way. It sounds like we finally got a real old school football coach I hope we can go back to being as good as we were then

    Darrel Marcum

Or we will be the same old browns buying into another failing front office

    Jim Harris

@Martin_SpeaksAnd since he was with the Ravens for a wile, he should enjoy beating them.

KING DEE

LOVE THE GUY ALREADY, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT FOOTBALL WITH THIS GUY !!! Can’t have a better coach a True Football junky #ClevelandBrowns

Mike Hall

Best press conference I’ve heard yet, great media questions, great insightful answers

    StevenC32

I like his story about Bill Belichick’s reaction to him eating the last of the Turkey.

P-Wee's- DawgPound

On paper excellent hire. Hopefully he can lead the defense to elite level play. He loves the d-line so I assume Berry will address that area. Also loves to play press man but doesn’t like to blitz . That’s the way to win in today’s game. Have to be able to create pressure with 4 d-lineman. I’m excited for the new DC.

    Iknowthelaw

Too bad they traded away three first rounders for The Serial Predator, and too bad they also traded away their 2019 first rounder for King Clownshoes. Giants drafted Dexter Lawrence with that pick, who is dominating now. What an unbelievably stupid franchise. Could’ve built this team up through the draft over several years.

tommy estepp

Welcome to the Family Mr Swartz!!!! So excited. It’s like it come full circle since last time he was here. Amazing. Let’s go Brown’s!!!

Patrick Angert

Welcome aboard Coach! The least the Organization should have done for you is to provide you a Brown’s sweater logo for your introductory press conference! Best to you! Go Brown’s!

Joe Rectifier

Best hire for the Browns that I can remember except Marty. I do think Stefanski is a good coach for this team, but I have admired and enjoyed Schwartz for many years and this is great news.

Bill B

That’s perhaps the most encouraging and intelligent Browns press conference I have ever heard. It seems we have a second adult on the coaching staff (to add to Bill Callahan). I hope he can deliver what he’s delivered elsewhere. Go Browns! God bless Jim Schwartz!

    StevenC32

@Mightymulatto I think he is saying that the base defensive concept 4-3 wide 9 scheme is something that is done at the High School level. When I was in High School more than 40 years ago, we ran a 4-3 Base Defense. The scheme isn’t as important as the players executing the scheme.

    TL TALKZ

Not sure why you felt the need to call the Browns coaching staff “not adults”. My guess is you’re old asf and have a hard time respecting younger people. Our “non-adult” HC won coach of the year, so maybe it’s time to reevaluate how you view an “adult”.

    shaggy

@StevenC32 No I did mean to use the word ours but I can respect it if you don’t feel like you should use it.

    mark reilly

@StevenC32 well you must hate a lot of browns fans because a lot of us use the words “ us or we or our “ actually most true fans of any team use those words

    StevenC32

@mark reilly No I just think that anyone who has to pay to get in a game is not part of the team. It would be like someone liking something you posted on the Internet and started using the words ours, us and we to describe your house and your wife.

Hazi 59

Great hire. Notice the emphasis he put on small things like chain of command, communication, accountability, etc. This has been sorely lacking for years.

JerGon

Finally they have someone who knows how to run a defense!!! Lets go Browns 2023!

Chad Kellogg

This coach is straight up LEGIT! So refreshing to hear someone who is confident, comfortable in his own skin, and a real leader!

    Warren Ash

And it is nice to have someone who says something of substance instead of the “nothing” we get from Stinkfanski and Berry!

Charles Cole

FINALLY!!! A no-nonsense, adult, experienced, knowledgeable coach in Cleveland!!!!! Wishing him every success.

Jay

He’s exactly what we need .. That was the best press conference I’ve ever seen here ,, he absolutely nailed it .. The best part is he’s a really good defensive coordinator

William Young

It looks like we finally have a real coach, we have not had one in a long time
He really sounds good

Johnny Tyler

Where has this man been all my life? We’ve needed someone like this in Cleveland FOR OVER TWO DECADES NOW!!! He is absolutely going to make a noticeable difference to this team and this entire franchise. I’m so hyped about this hire. Flores was my #1 choice for the position and I think I was dead wrong on that one. This dude’s attitude, his coaching ability AND his connections to this franchise are going to be a game-changer for this entire coaching staff IMO. Being loud and/or obnoxious isn’t necessarily a requirement to making a difference here, but you can just tell that his overall attitude is DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT from anyone else on our coaching staff or in our front office.

As a side note, his reminiscing about those early 90’s Browns teams, and ESPECIALLY the coaching legends who were part of those staffs, just goes to show you how much was TAKEN FROM US by that snake Modell. We lost way more than our football team. We lost an opportunity to be the Patriots…to have decades of sustained success under Belichick, who would’ve put together a juggernaut coaching staff here in Cleveland. Those pre-move Browns teams never got over the hump in the Super Bowl era, but they were a respected, well-run franchise in this league. What we got back in 1999 was a joke in comparison. I think Stefanski and Berry were the first steps to transforming this franchise back into a respectable one, and I’m hoping that Schwartz is the final piece of that puzzle. God willing!!!

    Eric Lewis

Crazy to think about Belichik, Saban, Ferentz on the same staff… Ugh. Xodell… I shant spell or speak his name! Definitely excited for the next few years!
