    The play calling isn’t an issue, they need an offseason to work out kinks with Watson and let the team gel, the defense cost us many games early on, so no your statement doesn’t make any sense if the defense is even good we will be much better even if the offense stays the same. But then even that won’t stay the same.

When the initial list of names for DC was announced, it was pretty frequently reported that Schwartz started his NFL career here in Cleveland as a coach/assistant under Bill Belichick. I said at that time that people should be paying particular attention to Schwartz (over guys like Flores, etc) SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE of his history with the Browns.

I truly believe that Schwartz didn’t just “accept” this job. I think he REALLY wanted it, and I suspect that he made that very clear during his interview. I think he was the Browns’ #1 choice (he was their first interview), and I think the Browns’ DC job was his #1 choice as a destination as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Schwartz’s thought process is that he started his career here in Cleveland with the Browns, and it would be a storybook ending to his NFL career for his last stop as an NFL coach to be as the DC of the Browns who helped them win their first Super Bowl.

    That would be something. I truly believe we have the players and just need to bump up the supporting cast, and Andrew berry seems pretty sound so it’s actually starting to come together to me… Let’s hope. If anyone deserves it it’s us (browns fans.)
