i think pass rusher and corner are way more important defense and run game wins super bowls . colts have a two solid tight ends is mo and doyle . colts also have very young talented wrs in pittman cambell pascal , harris , patmon . colts can just sign a cheap veteran wr to hold them over until the other guys get better .

Haha Jim you crazy boy. plenty of hole on this roster. left tackle, we need 3 pass rushers, we need a corner, tight end, and a wide receiver. the roster was better last year no question about that.
We haven’t finished hiring free agents or even went to the draft yet. We are in better shape at this time this year then we were last year
The lack of serious attention to the edge position is incredibly aggravating, it’s been an obvious weakness for 2 years, Buckner can take all the double teams he wants but it don’t matter if you don’t have someone on the edge that can get home
@Matt Taylor It’s almost stubbornness at this point with Ballard wanting his boys to develop into good players.
@Randal Smith I don’t see it like that. I agree that it can be frustrating to watch Ballard’s philosophy on spending play out in real time, but both he, Irsay, and Reich want this to be a long lasting team. This roster was in shambles and it takes time to build it back the right way. We could get a big name edge rusher or LT, but the contract needs to make sense to them when compared to the talent, age, and character of the player they’re assessing. Since ditching Grigson each year this roster has improved. We even lost our once in a generation QB and they are still bouncing back from that. If luck never left these holes would have been filled in by now and we’d be competing for superbowls every damn year.
If they make zero moves in the free agency I’ll be surprised and disappointed, and I’ll watch the draft and the development of people like Campbell, Rodgers/Ya Sin, and Stewart like a damn hawk.

Jim Irsay is a true gentleman and great human. Anyone who works for him speaks super highly of him. You can tell he loves this team with all of him but unlike Jerry Jones he lets his people do their job! If Jerry would get him a true GM Dallas would maybe make it to the playoffs more then once every 20 years lmao

I really don’t understand Chris Ballard. You preach signing and rewarding your own but then you let them walk on cheap contracts while not even upgrading your roster? Dudes hoarding money by not making moves but let’s a locker room leader walk and sign a 3 million dollar contract elsewhere. Stay true to your word.. checking out player reactions will tell you all you need to know and the Colts are in trouble. Darius Leonard and several other key players questioning decisions is not a good look and player walking and talking about the Colts being cheap is gonna prevent any actual improvements through free agency for years to come. Ballard is a great drafter but he is not great when it comes to personnel or actually maintaining a roster long term.
Never should have let Brissett walk. He was the in house QB to develop.
