What… why pay $20mil for a 1yr backup? Especially a player whos vocal and combative and has said backup isn’t his thing. Thats not Bakers mentality. Not a wise checkbook move. Only meh field move. Bad lockerroom move. Agreed Sam Darnold has GOT to be replaced by all wise means necessary. But that is not a wise mean to the end that is success.
@MorsUmbra Brown’s reported they would pay most of his salary and it’s a good move if we get him under 7 million and a 5-7 round pick. If sam sucks he’s gone next year so we will need him then.
Also pending injury or readiness we could use him. Sorry… but, he’s a good q.b. not a great leader.. but, i don’t want him to be a president. Just need him to win.
@Sam Ard alright least you thought about it and if money is adjusted/comped I can see argument at least. But I wouldn’t give up capital, even a 6th, for someone who isn’t gonna push the needle much in playoff wins. Ya need THE guy. Or needa clear cap and room and have value ready for him when he gets there.
