Jared Goff talks Lions’ turnaround, previews Week 15 at Jets | Twentyman in the Huddle Ep. 30

As always, Tim starts the show with news and notes from this week of practice and press conferences in Allen Park, including a few key stats that may impact the outcome of Sunday’s game. Next up, SNY’s Connor Rogers calls in to break down the top-ranked Jets defense and how the New York offense has changed after Mike White took over at quarterback in Week 12. After that, Lions quarterback Jared Goff joins Tim in the studio to discuss Detroit’s current hot streak, what he’s expecting from Sauce Gardner and the rest of the Jets secondary and being nominated for the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. To round things out, Mike O’Hara stops by to break down the Key Matchups for Lions at Jets, presented by BetMGM.

Goff is so right, the Lions have truly found their “identity”. Also, having such an amazing offensive line is a real blessing and the foundation of this team.

    Mike Stokes

    Agreed

    wolfebilt

The offensive line is the heart of the team. Goff is working the pocket better than ever too. Deadly combination.

    Independent Aquaman

Without Stafford being injured, Goff is a better QB with that OL.

goodfella

Sewell is a big man but his mobility is Elite when is comes to Offensive Lineman

    RJ & Cupid 🇨🇦

I was so happy when they drafted him. What an intelligent pick. To me, that was one of the first signs that this franchise was starting to turning around.

    goodfella

@RJ & Cupid 🇨🇦  I agree…mainly because that QB class wasn’t that good… but I feel that u can always find a real good offensive Lineman in the Top 10.

    sue yu

@RJ & Cupid 🇨🇦 it was real good pick but Micah parsons would be making even bigger impact on the lions.

    mike d

Yea but Sewells YAC is one of the worst in the league!

Jason Hill

I’d like to propose that every time Goff throws a TD or makes a big throw downfield the video screen at Ford Field shows a gif. of him in his uniform smiling and shrugging his shoulders while they blast the jingle from that jeweler when it says – “THATS JARED”

    Lakeside Science Lab

That sure made me laugh. However, can you imagine being at the game and JG16 is slinging it around like he’s been? You’d go nuts! Goff is my QB!!! Let’s go, Lions!!!!

    vondee gaming

    🤣

    Jason Hill

@Lakeside Science Lab- Absolutely! It might become too much, lol. It’s bad enough that jingle gets trapped in your head now with a single commercial. More tolerable however than the Lions roar that kinda sounds like a toilet flushing…

AlienSource

The legend himself. After all the unwarranted criticism. This man is talented admit it. Got this team rolling.

    Shut up

    killalc ron

Wasn’t the number 1 pick for a reason he still young that’s the crazy part Rams tripping

Jason Tom

Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee Jared Goff and Detroit Lions FTW. Let’s do this!

Joe Smith

I’ve always believe in Goff, I thought he got a raw deal in LA and I always thought the Lions got the better QB long term in the trade with draft picks on top.

    William Nimbach

With his age and all the injuries I completely agree!! At the time I couldn’t believe the deal we got for stafford! Tbh I would’ve been happy with just the picks and no goff!! Throwing goff in the trade was definitely a cherry on top!! Don’t get me wrong I think Stafford is a hell of a QB but I just wasn’t expecting to get that kind of deal for him!!

Bo Gagrius

Just keep letting it flow, JG! You’re killing it, baby! ❤️

eduardo castillo

Connor was great! He has been the best most informed beat writer from another team I have seen. He actually was applying the knowledge of his team to the match up against the Lions. GREAT JOB!

Pants

I’m hype for Goff with the podcast bump he should go crazy

Aj M.

This is a statement game. Go take it!

rodney foutch

Good show as usual Tim!! 💪❤️💯

William Nimbach

As a lions fan I feel like goff is so under appreciated!! Hes been great since getting here and I still hear people say we need a QB!! Lol the same rhetoric when Stafford was here…. same old lions fans!!!

jamal DaVis

I will love to see the lions in the Superbowl next year..I think a super bowl victory will be good for the city of Detroit,

William Nimbach

Jared goff is a class act!!!

CryptoReaper76

Goff really has blown the doors off this city. He’s not only rocking a laser dropping dimes, he’s a classy upstanding leader

John

I love that we’ve had some REALLY great dudes come through the organization like Goff, Stafford, Calvin, Barry ect….

sokół

Gentlemen, you’ve been playing the best attack in the league lately, there’s still a chance for playoffs and you have to fight for them until the end, Jared is finally playing to the best of his abilities, forward lions, greetings from Poland

Deven Bottiaux

I was on the fence with Goff up until this last week. I’m on board with him being the QB of the future.

Bobby_D

I would imagine for Goff and the rest of the boys, it’s mostly about the work FINALLY paying off. That has to be a huge deal for these guys! Has to feel great.

Brayden Sharlow

We are finally making the right plays when we really need them. And that translates to winning games, we are actually closing out games.
