I see Eddie making a comeback under these coaches. At least from the way they talk, they’re holding guys more accountable. He has the talent. He just needs the right mentality.
A lot of the defense will be the same, but at least the 4-3 and better corners should help Eddie out. I hope Eddie gets serious about tackling. He should be as excited about delivering hits that knock the ball loose as he is about INTs or picking up the fumbles.
In the past he pulls up on his hits and will just go for the ball when he’s the first guy there. The guys like Peanut will sacrifice their body’s and will get run over en-route to knocking the ball out. It’s not just the punch, it’s creating a gap between their chest and elbow if there isn’t one there. It’s wrapping up the tackle with one arm before you try to swipe or rip the ball out. It’s securing the tackle before you tomahawk it out.
I think Brisker will teach Eddie some things about better angles and form on his tackles (although Brisker plays high sometimes on the way to the ball) and Eddie will tech Brisker about coverage. I see a very good tandem back there if they work together!

Flus is exactly what Chicago needed. “He coaches us hard and very detailed.” That’s what Chicago failed on before coaches are like mothers is good to be a friend but your a mother first. A coach is a friend but he is a coach first and should be strict and let them know you go hard at all times that’s what your there for.
I’m impressed with the coaching staff that has been assembled. Their young will make mistakes but I think they will surprise some people.
