James Jones just may have played his way into your fantasy football lineup with his blistering performance in Week 5.
The veteran wide receiver had four receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown for the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions. Eighty-three of those yards came on the TD reception, which came in the third quarter, as Green Bay’s Twitter account pointed out.

It’s the second time Jones has broken the 100-yard mark this season, with the first coming in Week 2 against the Washington Redskins.
There’s almost no way he can repeat last year’s 14 touchdowns, but that’s not to say he doesn’t have plenty of fantasy value. As Aaron Rodgers‘ third-favorite receiver, Jones should get enough targets to maintain a spot in your lineup every week.
The beauty with Jones is that his floor is worthy of being a No. 3 receiver. However, he also has the potential to put on a performance like this and function more as a WR2 or even WR1 some weeks. As defenses try to focus on Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, that opens up more chances for Jones.
Continue starting him. Just don’t expect him to do this every week.
