Absolutely terrible pick. I cannot state that he won’t end up being a good player, but picking a project at #1 with 0 production or skillset whatsoever who wasn’t even a top 5 player on his own defense vs a runner-up Heisman with a billion awards and insane production because the kid can run fast in shorts is absurd. This staff is a joke. I may be some random fan who knows nothing about football in their eyes, but what in the hell is the thought process here? A 99% rated athlete with 0 stats is better than a 98% rated athlete with incredible stats? Detroit fans are so happy right now, and we are the laughing stock of the league once again. I give up on expecting any competency from this organization forever. I WILL SAY I will root for the kid, and I do hope I’m a wrong idiot and he is amazing.

Trent Baalke is the GOAT. Just for the simple fact he drafted the player I felt they should, and they didn’t try cater to fans opinion. They basically had confidence to put their jobs on the line and I love it, that’s a sign of a determined GM. LFG

I love the pick. People are worried about counting stats (sacks). Georgia average score was 38 to 6 during the regular season schedule. Walker and rest of defense were resting on the sidelines mid 3rd quarter every game. Walker also played multiple positions due to injuries. His ceiling is so high. Love the trade up to leapfrog Pats for D. Lloyd as well. Great job Baalke & co.

I think they need to focus his assignments in 2022, so he can refine technique. Technique comes with repetition.

You can’t coach size, athleticism, and versatility. The kid has everything you want if you’re a coach. Does he need to stay in one position? Yes and Doug already said that’s going to be an emphasis in the future. Does he need some refinement as a pass rusher? Yes. If you add both of those things in then he’s a slam dunk #1 overall pick. He’s a Julius peppers kind of freak athlete and he’s not an all about me guy. He was constantly schemed against with double teams. This instantly makes Josh Allen’s job way easier.

One thing no one has actually pointed out is that Trayvon is a true Junior where Hutch was a Senior. Travon is in the class a year behind hutch.if you took hutch’s last year away who would be the better pick after 3 years at college….. Maybe I’m clutching at straws but the more I look into this pick the more I like it. He was rated higher than Tibs coming out of high school…. I am beginning to believe he may actually be Edge 1
