The man Cliff Branch finally šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļø

Arkham _Raider

RIP Cliff Branch. Long overdue, but really happy he’s finally in the HOF. #21

distantlogik

The Judge needs to be in the HOF!

Patrick McCormick

Ask Mel Blount or Ronnie Lott or Kenny Easley who they feared most.

    Mason Boehm

In the 74 AFC Championship Mel Blount even got benched because he couldnā€™t slow down Cliff, and Blount is considered a top 5 corner of all time. Another example of why Cliff should have been in sooner. Pretty sure the term ā€speed killsā€œ was first used for him.

Branch in the HOF was way overdue. Since the rules in the NFL are constantly changing, the HOF voting criteria should be done based on the era the person played. Cliff was one of the very best in his era. Nothing else should matter. If the voter is political, that person should step away and let someone else vote. We should now be discussing Lester Hayes, Jim Plunkett, Rod Martin, Phil Villapiano, George Atkinson and Jack Tatum.

Congratulations to the late, GREAT Cliff Branch, one of the early “Speed Kills” WR’s of the NFL. Loved watching him when I was a kid, love watching videos of Cliff still.

Our RAIDERS have so many great players that should be in the HoF or at least get much consideration… Lester Hayes definitely in, one of the great CB’s in NFL history, and one of the two (along with Mike Haynes) CB’s that comprise the #1 duo of all time. Jim Plunkett should be in the HoF, the greatest comeback story of all time… TWICE. Most people forget that Plunkett was basically put out to pasture in ’83, but with Wilson failing it took Plunkett to guide the offense and the team to victory and another SB win. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, stats aren’t everything, winning is a lot more important. (Just win, baby!) Probably my favorite RAIDER of the time, the 80’s, was the man with the gift of grab and the gift of gab… Todd Christensen. As Branch was integral to the RAIDERS offense at WR, his ability to make the deep threat a defenses nightmare, so Christensen was at TE… if the defense didn’t focus on Christensen he would make them pay. In Christensen’s case the stats were unbelievable for a TE, he made WR’s jealous, and four years straight, this was no flash-in-the-pan player. (*There’s a football card with the AFC and NFC reception leaders, iirc 1985, Todd Christensen and Jerry Rice… that’s good company right there.) And this in the era of the running game, not like the last 15+ years of a mainly passing league. Add in that TC was a vibrant personality, a sports commentator, a tv show host or guest (I used to watch him on HBO’s “Inside The NFL”), the man was a badass and gentleman (like the great Ted Hendricks). I know you can only put so many people in the HoF, and not all from the same team, but the HoF is about the best and brightest, the story, the history, and not politics and/or parity.

Hey,we traded “KEN STABLER to the hou OILLERS for”DAN PASTORINI, which the “NATION did not like at all!!!, PASTORINI got his ‘LEG broke, with most”FANS CHEERING!

I just recently watched Highlights of Cliff Branch. Damn he was the Most Explosive receiver the Raiders have ever had. The most complete Receiver I have ever seen. Tim Brown was my guy in my Era. But Damn Branch was freaking Special.

Tom Gill

Finally Cliff you got your due albeit wrongfully way overdue! RIP, you’ll never be forgotten. Raaaaaaaaayders!!

JayDogTitan 1464

Like JT said, Cliff Branch should have been inducted in Canton 25-30 years ago, But he’s in and it’s so well deserved because Cliff Branch was one of the best ever, A true big game player, Congratulations Cliff, God bless you and may you rest in peace because now you are Hall of Famer Cliff Branch. šŸ™šŸ“ā€ā˜ ļøšŸ‘

Sarah Carr

Congratulations to Cliff Branch on finally getting his much deserved Gold Jacket. Man’s house was burning down but he made sure to grab his 3 SB rings, that tells you right there how much he loved the Raiders. RIP

DogSlobber Gardens

My instant reaction was, “Wait what?!? Why the hell wasn’t he already in the HoF years ago?”
Jim Plunkett is long overdue for recognition, too. Preferably before he dies, assuming he cares about that sort of thing. I hate when they wait till someone dies to finally show them some respect, as with Ken Stabler and Cliff Branch. That’s just shitty.

Fean

I really enjoy watching Eddie. Keep up the great content

Javier DeAnda

Raiders need to build their own Hall of Fame, too many legends getting in dead ..

Craig Lahey

Great content! Branch is long overdue and happy for his family. Agree about Plunkett and certainly Lester Hayes. Another player who should be getting talked about for the HOF is Center Dave Dalby. He absolutely belongs.

Jeff Ginck (Pennsylvania Raider)

Finally Cliff Branch made it, way overdue! And so are Lester Hayes and Jim Plunkett. How in the world was Lester overlooked for so long, he was so dominant for years. And Plunkett with 2 superbowl wins and dominant superbowl wins when they weren’t favored to win. It wasn’t his fault he was drafted and then traded to lousy teams before Finally making it to the Raiders. There are qbs that made it with no superbowl wins, it’s just ashame

Roberto Hicks

RIP TO CLIFFORD BRANCH…… DEFINITELY A HALL OF FAMER AND HIS INDUCTION INTO THE HOF IS LONG OVERDUE!!!! THANK YOU CLIFF FOR EVERYTHING!!!! GO MF RAIDERS!!!!!!

Wrex FX

I remember when there was an article on ESPN before stabler got in to the hall of fame and they had one of the writers for sports illustrated “Dr. Z” in a clip and he flat out said hed NEVER vote Ken Stabler for the hall of fame.

It really shows the ineptitude of the people over the hall of fame how biased a lot of the voters they had were.

william fox

When Cliff Branch was running track for the University of Colorado he set the world record for the indoor 60 yard dash – temporarily making him the fastest man alive. This fact seems to be forgotten.

Michael

Better late than never. So deserved. I never got to watch him play, but my father did. And I knew all about Cliff because of my father.
