look I’ve been a Jet fan for 4 decades. I’ve gone through Dan Marino destroying us for 15 years when we passed up on him in the draft for Ken O’Brien. then he was gone and I had to go through 15 years of Tom Brady but we also passed on to pick Chad Pennington. Brady’s finally gone and now you have to deal with Josh Allen who we passed over to pick Sam darnold who is now a second string quarterback on another team. just that what I wrote there sums up the Jets organization it’s pathetic and it’s always been pathetic.
I’ve read a lot of optimistic Jets posts and that’s great to be optimistic but please with the teams and the quarterbacks that are stuck in the AFC now I really want to know how the Jets are going to be competitive anytime within the next 10 years. they’re only hope is to build the number one defense in the league that’s really their only hope to build like a Seattle Seahawks when they beat the broncos in the Super Bowl or Baltimore Ravens 2000 defense. or the 89 Giants something like that a defense that smacks you in the mouth in every hit you feel that’s the only way because there’s no way Wilson is going to outgun any of these quarterbacks ever. look I’m going to die without the Jets winning the Super Bowl and that’s all I wanted was to see them win a Super Bowl and they’re never going to do it because the situation they’re in now they’re not going to win anything for at least 15-20 years with the way it’s set up right now.
I’ve been a jets fan since my dad took me to my first game at shea vs the bengals in 1971. i met joe willie that day and have been hooked since the age of nine (thanks Joe!)
i do like salah a lot and believe that he knows where he’s going (a bit like weeb, parcells & rex). ownership has to get out of the way. they’ve been the problem all along.
seeing woody in the locker room and draft room makes me sick. he should sign jd and salah to long term deals, get out of the way and be like the steelers (who only THREE head coaches since 1969 (since jets SB3 win) and all three pitt coaches have SB rings.)
consistency wins. woody (and leon rip) shaking up the HC situation every few years is irresponsible ownership.
robert salah as talked about being a part of four prior nfl team rebuilds. i would LOVE to hear a reporter (cough cough EA, Jeanne, Connor) ask RS which of his prior 4 rebuilds most reminds him of the nyj rebuild and how far along that reuild time line are the jets (40%? 60%?), maye even incorporate that question/discussion into a 1JD episode? just sayin.
