@JD Talks Matt Ryan has a nice deep ball too…wtf do u mean? Wentz would throw it to a reciever downfield who’s being doubled & even tripled over hitting a wide open Taylor or Hines in the flat, which is dumb for a lot QBs but it’s especially dumb for one who couldn’t ask for 2 better RBs to check down to. The 2nd Titans loss would’ve easily been a dub had Wentz not completely missed JT & threw a pick into triple coverage. Taylor would still be running to this day, he was so wide open. Ryan isn’t perfect obviously especially with his age & mobility but getting him to replace Wentz & dumping his entire contract on Washington was a miracle move I thought wouldn’t be possible after the last Jacksonville loss so I’m happy asf
Isaiaha Rodgers looked really good out there, made a huge interception and a great special teams return. Matt Ryan actually threw check downs when necessary so we already know he’s going to be 6,000% better than Carson Wentz.
I just hope Isaiah Rodgers is alright after that headshot he took. What a dirty play

@SOSABABY If you watch the film you’d know Ryan was a lot more mobile last year than Rivers was two years ago and Rivers went 11-5 with the Colts. Your point is moot. Manning was also a statue and he won a super bowl past his prime. Your point is weak AF my guy.

@Aron I didn’t see any starters playing with foles, and Ryan played one minute of the 2nd quarter lol we’ll be fine man. I think we just need to sign Odell, or TY, and we’ll be golden. Let’s not overreact about one preseason game. Ryan actually looked good imo, they were vanilla schemes, seeing if our dudes could win one on one matchups; and they didn’t. Which is concerning, if we continue to look like this, then we should worry. But when we hit the reg season, we’ll have the threat of JT, who is a game changer/breaker.
@Adam Hall I don’t disagree Reich called a bad beginning to the game. And I’m not worried because it is just the first preseason game. But, the biggest concerns of the season were Matt Ryan and the WR group. So not a good start for them and they have a lot to improve in just 3 weeks. This game against a 2nd string defense should have been an easy one.
@Aron yeah I would have loved us to punch it in at the goal line or hit a deep ball to pierce to something, but it’s a process. Hopefully they get in a good flow soon. At least we know Ryan won’t throw into triple coverage 😂 Odell in our offense would be crazy, our wr’s definitely need help. But gotta admit our defense looked dangerous, could be a top 5 unit if we keep it up.
@Adam Hall Defense looks good the pass rush wasn’t as good as I would have liked in the first game but it’ll only get better. Odell should have already been signed so I’m not convinced they’ll sign him but we need a solid WR1. Need to see more from Ryan and the offense.

… and Ehlinger is clearly a damn baller. Also very impressed how the TE squad is coming along. Granson has speed, Ogletree is looking to run through people after the catch, and both of them + Jelani Woods all did pretty good on their blocking. Lindsay also running strong. Nice to see Bernhard and Alec getting a lot of reps in…
Someone on the kick return needs to learn how to block. Man Rodgers should’ve been gone.
Well the offense wasn’t terrible. Definitely things to clean up such as rhythm, but we have to remember that JT didn’t play. That’s a huge weapon.
Also, our defense got 6 takeaways without our takeaway machine in Shaq Leonard. If anything, our defense impressed me the most. I think we have a legit chance to have the #1 defense this year. I suppose we will see in the next two weeks once the defense starts playing against some real starters. But for now I’m loving it.
Gotta remember Buffalo sat most of their starters. Defense was great with the turnovers but other than that gave up to many yards. Offense/playcalling was terrible. Lots to clean up glad it’s only preseason.
Sam Ehlinger balled today
Only preseason…but what if # 4 started last year against the raiders…he did ONLY take ALL the starting snaps that week with the 1st teamers…1 can only wonder. NEXT!
Between Ehlinger & Foles , I have to be honest with you, I’d take Ehlinger… Dude just has “IT”…..which sometimes you just have to have. Foles is a shell of his way former self… Ehlinger brings razor sharp smarts to the game that you just can’t teach, some of his head-fakes and jukes are next-level. The O-line did him no favors and he still was raking leaves.

I was shocked by Ehlinger’s progress since last season! It’ll be a shame if they put him on the practice squad, he may not stay a Colt for long.
The Colts need to keep Sam Ehlinger, Foles may have experience, but Sam has ability and in some cases, ability out weighs experience and this is one of those cases

You need to be “mentally” in it to last an extended season. This will be Julio’s last year I’m predicting and he clearly thinks he has a better chance for one last go at a SB with TB12…
Ehlinger needs to moved up to our QB2 and Foles moved to QB3…

I admit I was disappointed seeing our starting offense struggle against Bills second stringers, but there are so many new pieces and they need more time to gel. Ryan was definitely in control, but those WRs need to find separation. Add the threat of JT in there with some more practice reps under their belts and they’ll be fine. Defense was ELECTRIC! Can’t wait for Shaq Leonard to return and wreak havoc in the regular season.
