What? Stop the nonsense! They’re ranked last in every category. Since you apparently fart unicorns and rainbows, everyone has to also? People throw around this “negativity” word when they clearly don’t know what it means. I’m fine with different Chiefs fans cheering in different ways, but he has a right as a supporter of the team to feel this way. Also, he’s not wrong. It’s a results based business, and there haven’t been results, and they seem to be catching up to us. There have been “assignment blunders” on defense since 2018 now and they’re not going away, which is absurd. It shouldn’t take that long to fix blunders unless the defense is full of perennial players to lack basic football knowledge. I’m not saying Spags needs to go, but something has to be done, because what’s happening now is not working.

Honestly, if Spags’ biggest crime is loyalty to veteran players and believing they still have something in the tank, then there are much worse things to worry about. Defense has been a “second half of the season” crew the last 3 years post-Sutton. They somehow flip the switch in time to make a statement. Maybe it’s the fact that assignments in Spags’ system are known to be overly complex and confusing sometimes. But I believe he will figure it out and get Willie and Nick out there more. Nick will be starting even with Hitch healthy — he has earned it. Nieman, however, has lost his job this month.

And i mean, i think everyone agrees that Sorenson is done, which is a sad close to his career. I think it’s important to remember his heat check moments against the Titans in our super bowl season and the browns last year in the divisional round. Those, along with many clutch plays throughout his time here, are plays we have to remember about dirty Dan in spite of our frustrations with his play. What he lacked in talent he has had to make up for in tenacity. I hope he rides off into the sunset and we can root on whatever is next for him in his career, but it’s time to move off the field and let the young guys roll.

In the meantime, there isn’t anyone that can take over this year for Spags and make us better. And Andy Reid loves him as a high character member of that staff. So. Good luck!

@Joshua Fields thank you. Not to mention Spag has had the leagues 2nd best defensive end lined up out of position. Why is the world would you not line Chris Jones up in the middle???? Why in the world would you keep Dan Sorensen in when we have Thornhill??? Why would you keep Hitchens in when Nick Bolton leads our team in tackles?? Just makes no sense to me. We’re down by 3 scores at half some games and we come out with no adjustments. Spag thinks the same defense can just magically get better at half without changing. He’s a recipe for disaster.

@Sam Bate at this point I’m just waiting for him to get fired… the whole chiefs fan has been waiting for the best players to be on the field and he is not putting them. Why is Sorensen and Niemen even playing??? Special teams is okay for them. I believe the chiefs whole defense is tired of spags playing favoritism and that’s why whenever Sorensen and Niemen is on the field they play with no heart..

Just gotta start running the ball more…. Give it to Gore
